I don't disagree with most of your post, but whenever a "megabuy" like a Torres happens and he flops it's always going to be a struggle to figure out what to do. It's not like other clubs are queuing up to offer either us or Torres a way out of our problem.
FWIW I do think the problem is partly with CFC, partly with Torres and partly just bad luck. There's no doubt we don't play to Torres in any way effectively, but he hides way too much and doesn't do the basics of hunting for goals. And then there's the numerous times when he is tripped in the box and the refs rewards him for booking him. It just seems he can't catch a break.
Personally I think Torres has had his chance. Drogba has been off to Africa for the last month and Torres had the role. He's completely failed. Drogba should be the top man, Sturridge next in line. Torres can take any scraps that are left. And in the summer Torres should be offloaded in pretty much any way we can.

The thing is, releasing Torres in his present form and at this particular moment would result in a massive hit of Chelsea's finances.
Transfer fee??.....£20 million at best from a PSG or that ambitious Russian club (but would Torres really want to go there?)....Maybe a Juve or Milan side might take a gamble on him recovering his form, but you definitely can't see a Spanish or English club going for him, so its going to mean Torres accepting he is no longer 'box-office' and having to drop a level.
Wages?.....I presume he is on a lengthy contract so that would be a hefty pay-off to get him out of the door??
So added together you are looking at close to a £50 million loss on just Torres....Combine this with losses you would have to take on several other under-acheivers in the squad and its fair to say that it will take a costly exercise to get Chelsea back on the rails.
As I said, it isn't going to be an overnight thing.

By that, you mean he has wrote something that self-pitying Liverpool fans don't agree with?....

| On the Torres front.
Two weeks ago, some in the media laughably suggested that City and Liverpool may arrange a swap deal between Tevez (one of the best footballers on the planet, but, as a human being, a total 'wazzock', I hate the swear filter at times) and Carroll (out of his depth in a puddle). A far better suggestion would have been City and Chelsea swap (until the end of the season) Tevez and Torres. Tevez puts himself in the shop window, for his imminent summer departure, and Torres gets to play in a side that would give him umpteen chances a game. The law of averages would say that he'll start to score goals again.
Tevez gets football again
Torres starts scoring goals again
Everyone's a winner

But it was Evra who refused to shake Suarez's hand, it was all a set-up to make him look bad, a Liverpool fan showed me a picture that proved it.

| I think that Citeh can park Tevez in the reserves and ignore him (is he even playing for the reserves???). They'd be suffering a financial loss but in every other respect they'd be the winners.
Apart from Tevez being left to rot I think a swap deal with Torres would be ideal for everybody. Don't think it'll happen though.

| Screw it. Torres can go to Real Madrid in a swap deal with Ronaldo. Ronaldo woud have cost £80m, but we'll throw in Torres and pay £90m.
Jose back, bringing Ronaldo, problems mainly solved.

Good. Pleased he's done this. I think Evra should now apologise for his jumping up and down in Suarez's face and they should BOTH move on and bury the hatchet.

wouldn't have thought so given Suarez has not made any sort of attempt at an apology to Evra regarding the original offence whether it was meant to offend / carry racist overtone or not

| When is Evra going to have the good grace to apologise for being black?? How much more inflammatory does he have to be to get an FA ban??
In all seriousness, this episode and subsequent apologies (however half-ar$ed they are) just go to vindicate the FA commission in believing that Suarez and his ludicrous defence couldn't be trusted. If he's lied to his own manager and club then he's more than likely to have lied to the FA commission isn't he?
