| If the Premier League had started on January 1st, Liverpool would be 18th with 8 points (19 QPR 8pts, 20 Wolves 5pts).

| Arsenal are playing well lately, won 7 on the bounce. Could have been challenging right at the top had they not had the nightmare start they did.

| Dalgleish is a joke of a manager. Liverpool were in far better hands with Hodgson in charge. KKK will be out one way or the other by Christmas.

| Roddy B.....I fully respect your views, but doesn't your post actually confirm my point about the supporters having too much sway over the board's decisions?
Your fans never wanted Hodgson, so you choose to deride the fellow from the start, until you get what you want, even though what you replace it with is just as mediocre, results-wise??......
I appreciate Dalglish's emotional bond with the Liverpool fans, but as I say in my other post, this 'bond' can become something that blinkers decisions, rather than helps.....Let's be honest here, your league form is mediocre at best, if you looked in the dictionary for the term 'inconsistant', it would simply say Liverpool - Anybody but Kenny would be under pressure from the Liverpool crowd.
For most sides this can be excused, but for a team who have made several big-money signings, including a strike force that cost almost £60 million, it can't just be shrugged off, even with Dalglish in charge.
As I said previously, the Cups have been his saving grace.....As a Liverpool fan, do you think he could have survived without having claimed the League Cup and also making a good fist of the FA Cup?

My biggest defence of Dalglish is that we've played very well under him. It's a tricky situation because, as you say, it's a results based business, but performances do go some way into keeping you in the job, as does fan support, which, for Dalglish, is undoubted. In all honesty, I've had my concerns and I've raised huge doubts over the transfer policy, but he's given me enough confidence to give him at least another season in charge. Whether the new ownership will view it like that I don't know, they spoken so much about winning and how they want to compete on all fronts, I imagine they'll be pleased with the cup performances, but the league performances will certainly force them into some sort of decision: either back Dalglish, allow him to get rid of another 4/5 players and replace them, or let him go and start afresh without Comolli, Clarke and Dalglish.

| Where is the City fan who said Everton and Stoke away aren't "difficult" away games? Come on, show yourself. Why do they only post when they win (apart from Cibaman). They've become everything that they hate.

| Mark Bright prediction in 2011 for this season:
1-Liverpool 2-Man Utd 3-Man City 4-Arsenal
"Liverpool finished 22 points behind United last season but only Sir Alex Ferguson amassed more points than Kenny Dalglish since the 'king' took over from Roy Hodgson.
Why will they win it? The Reds have four players who could grace any team in the Premier League: Pepe Reina, Steven Gerrard, Luis Suarez and Andy Carroll, then add to the mix promising youngsters like John Flanagan, new faces like Charlie Adam and Stewart Downing plus team spirit, desire and 21 years of hurt."Â

| Liverpool only have 5 more points than West Brom in the time he has been there. That's with about 90 million less.

When you're chasing a title and the season reaches pressure point, every game becomes difficult. Unless you are experienced, like UNited.
For anyone to claim everton and stoke away aren't difficult games is an idiot. Evertone are always in the top half and often takes points off the big boys.
No one from the top 5 has won at stoke this season United drew 1-1.
Yesterdays result would have been good for city, in normal circumstances, but put into context, at this stage of the seaosn they needed 3 points. United would have found a way to win. They win relentlessly at this time of the season.

| This was the post.
Stoke and Everton can hardly be classed up there or else we are going to have to start taking Bolton, QPR and Swansea into the equation too.
You've also included Spurs twice and an Arsenal team that was bereft of any decent players.
In reality United's tough games have been Spurs, Chelsea and City at home and Liverpool away (7 points out of 12) and City's have been Spurs and United away ( 6 points out of 6 and 11 goals).
If we take one point from the forthcoming games at Liverpool and Chelsea then our records will be the same. However, all of our games against the big opposition will have been away with nearly all United's at home.
Whilst we have battered two of the other big five away, can we really see United doing the same? When was the last time United beat anyone decent away?
Titter.

| I'm surprised at any sane City fan thinking Everton away is an easy game. Our record against them over recent years is woeful.
As usual in the premier league, teams that have been successful over the years tend to go on a run after Christmas. United have always been excellent at this. Likewise Arsenal are doing the same.
If City are 3 points behind United come derby day I'd take that at the moment, we're struggling and still have to go to The Emirates, while United are finding ways to win.

Yeah, that gap can not get higher than 3 points before derby day. City are just going to have keep picking up as many points as possible and hope united's tremendous run hit's a bumpy patch.
If it does, and they are within touching distance, plus derby day, they can take advantage.
If united win all their remaining games, except derby day then they will most likely win the title ande city just have to hold their hands up and say fair play.

I've got money on city with someone from work, and I'm a leeds fan.
It doesn't take a genius to figure out why I may be just a [ibit[/i bias against United. Good work cluedo!

he's done really well of late..
awful last half hour generally from United, and generally awful in the final 3rd of the pitch, was watching on a crappy stream but looked a penalty, not sure Murphy helped himself, he looked a bit like he was waiting for the contact and was a tad theatrical.
Didn't Bareth Garry get away with a fair blatant one on Saturday?

Juve surprisingly back on the up. Their midfield three of Pirlo, Marchisio and Vidal is outstandingly good. I thought Pirlo was finished when Milan let him go, but he's utter genius in the middle. I know United fans love Scholes, but given both in their pomp, I'd have taken Pirlo.
