| Two very tired teams in Wakey today. But our extra class particularly from Sam gave us the win. Whilst we were lackluster IMO, defensively the effort we put in was tremendous. We never really got out of second gear, yet still bombed at least three try's. Had we turned up all guns blazing we'd have truly blown them way. Saying that still a highly impressive performance after the Saints win. We weren't just physically tired but also mentally tired, and you could see that from some of the strange decisions the players made at times. Still chuffed to bits the win, and the players deserve a big pat on the back and a long rest after the effort they've put in.

| Cracking finish in the game at Widnes. What a cool head Jamie Foster has on him.
Super League is so hard to predict this year, as my bookie is happily aware of.

Though he was a good player before the derby and a very good goal kicker, but I've got a lot of respect for him after his interview after the game. Again he's showed his class and calm head today it would seem, fair play to the lad.

| Maguire quote on BBC:
Quote It was a tough game for the boys to back up after Friday, but it was great to see the boys really strong with their defence.
"It was a tough game for the boys to back up after Friday, but it was great to see the boys really strong with their defence.
"Unfortunately we turned the ball over a lot which created a lot of defence that we probably didn't need to be doing.
"All the players wanted to play and even though it was a tough game, they came out here and performed and got the points." '"

Cheers. For once Kear is pretty sporting:
Quote LovesToSpooge"I thought Wigan's defence was magnificent and Sam Tomkins was sensational," said Kear. "It was as if he had a force field around him. But I was really pleased from my team's point of view.
"It was tough to back up and we were probably playing the most mentally tough team in the competition.
"I thought we asked some questions and half opened them up but I thought Wigan were superb."'"

He had to be that gracious in defeat. Wakey were so devoid of idea's it was untrue. Still good defense from our guy's though.

Spot on. A scrappy game between two very tired teams. We were always in control, and it looked very much as if the lads were just pacing themselves, and doing just enough FTW.
Sam was outstanding, but even he looked lethargic at times, although stepping on the gas just at the right times. Finch was much improved, yet again, and I can see him being a real factor towards the crucial part of the season.
Charnley had a bit of nightmare with knock-ons...wonder if we might see Goulding back in next Sunday?
Injury worries to Hansen (looked like his knee was strapped up?) and Carmont...any news?

Think Charnley must have slept with that touchjudges wifes! Some of the decisions he made were completely wrong.

| Quote MattyB="MattyB"We should have won far easier than that - Coley knocking on over the line / Richards with just the fullback to beat near the line off loaded to nobody.
Seeing a big fat zero against Wakefield's name is a massive plus though - especially after a short turnaround from the massive win on Friday and on such a warm day again.
4pts from 4 over the Easter break is fantastic.
Well done lads.
'"
That said, we were held up over the line three times as well and your last try was from a terrible forward pass.

Goulding should return for me next week. Charnley dropped a couple of balls he shouldn't have. Hansen to his credit did walk off, or should that be he hobbled off. I think Carmont was just really badly winded, he couldn't catch his breath for a long time. Hansen is going for a scan this week to asses his knee, no mention of Carmont, all from the official site.
Finch's best game for me. Not terrific by any means but certainly improving, and that's all we can ask. His obvious history with Hoffman is evident for all to see, some nice play between the two of them. In fact that side off Hoffman, Carmont and Pat really does look dangerous.
I hope Lima gives Coley a good roasting for being greedy and not passing him the ball.

| There was a cracking moment in the 2nd half when Sam was waiting for the ball to go dead in the in goal but it just stopped. With the Wakey fans cheering Sam cooly sidestepped the Wakey player to make him look stupid.
