Anyway, back to topic. I spoke to the groundsman whilst the pitch was relaid last time (was actually back in wigan then), he said it was to do with the non-removal of septic tanks and the ground that is the problem. Without digging the whole ground up and going down to remove the tanks, it is never going to get better.



Whelan will have sold up within 5 years, it will be interesting to see who takes on the ownership of the ground, as he sure doesn't look like he's going to give it to Latics (or Warriors) like was once rumoured.



The weather looks like it is going to be OK for WCC, so I'm sure the pitch will be fine.

I reckon there are two camps out there, the one that beleives all that the gods of BCC and BskyB say and the ones that are saying it just to wind Warriors fans up. Both sets are egits but not a concern, as anybody with a couple of brain cells (and lives in Wigan) knows it is WHERE the Stadium is built not who plays on it!
