Pathetic, no intensity, no defence, no attack

I said last year that Field was a liability defensively and was laughed at because he made a one on one tackle in the CC semi final.



It’s all been scored on him today and the others around him have been on edge. Probably why he played 1 last year.

We’ve been bullied but we are missing a large proportion of our pack and Catalans have played well.

A defeat like this however is unacceptable though and what it points out again to me like it has a few times this season is we are maybe flat track bullies, when we physically get on top and dominate the ruck and territory we seem to revel (Saints, Warrington and most games we have won) when a team gets on a roll against us we really seem to struggle to stem the bleed and turn the tables.

Tough few weeks coming up and we could find ourselves out of the cup and a way off a home play off final spot. IL needs to get the cheque book out and get Dupree in ASAP.

It's June

We have won some big games this season based on intensity though.

When a team stands up to our ‘bullies’ like Smithies we completely lose the plot. We had it with Partington. It’s a pattern that’s gone on for years and part of the club’s recruitment going all the way down to how we’ve profiled and signed young players. We’ve a reserve team filled with players who in the main have no chance of a career in our first team. IL is dormant and probably counting his days down to retirement. I’d love nothing more than some serious surgery done to this squad but I’ve been waiting for that since the embarrassment of us against the Roosters when it comes to signing a dominant pack.

We were missing a large portion of our pack when you scraped a narrow win against us, all your peers discounted that.

Seem to recall people saying these things in 2016 including Bilko having a public spat with players. We won the league that year.

With bodies back this team is more than good enough, we have seen some of the performances this season that prove that.

All taking aside, from an outside point of view, you dont create anything, I think you guys went a bit ott with shorrocks performance in the good Friday games yes he was influential in some big defensive moments, but he created nowt, and didn't in any subsequent games.



Harry Smith is a marc sneyd style half back for me, good on the front foot, keeps you ticking over but if you're behind, he isn't getting you back into a game.



It was the 2nd half in the Hull game, they didn't bite in, when defending and didn't panic when French got the ball, no gaps appeared and he threw some daft passes.



If teams don't panic in front of French then there's not much to worry about with wigan.

3 weeks on a bounce we physically dominated 3 of the best teams in league in Leigh, Saints and then Wire, we have been indifferent either side of that and could have lost a couple more than we have but I still think we have the quality to be in with a shout come October, I don’t think we have much chance of winning the cup however but fingers crossed for 2 weeks time.

Yeah, Smiths long kicking game is brilliant but he’s not the most creative and he’s slow, it’s almost the opposite of the situation when Williams was here, together they’d compliment each other well but they both missed a complimenting half. We just need to hope Field can slot into the halves and do well.

It would not surprise me if it's you and saints in thr gf, or you saints or catalans, some combination, there's early signs of us "pulling a warrington" bubbling here at the moment.

I don't disagree, but I'm going to shudder to look back on some of those soft tries we conceded this afternoon.

Our pack isn’t great when fully fit but taking 5 out has means we are there for the taking.



Havard putting in unreal 65 minute stint had been papering over the cracks.
