How did Dupree play?

Great first game, couldn’t have gone much better for him

Seems a shame that the usual crowd of expert critics who appear after a Wigan defeat haven’t appeared to congratulate the team and coaches on the excellent win today.

Or am I being a bit too harsh ?

A disjointed and error riddled first half but much more like it after the break. We need to build on that now and kick on because the Grand Final is wide open. Get Havard back in that pack and we can really start to rotate the impact guys of Dupree and Mago around him and Ellis. If our pack can create space, we have the backs to take advantage of it.

And if Dupree had suffered the same fate as the saints lads everyone would have been condoning it. He needs stopping. If he can't tackle, he should try another sport.

Smithies is beginning to look and play like a LF.

I’m now moving towards French at FB and Field at HB. We need French where he can get some space and that for me is from joining the the attack form FB.

Hopefully with the next two games at home we can start to build some momentum.

Good to see us play with some intent to attack with a bit more purpose yesterday. I think from the start our forwards were far more aggressive in running onto the ball and post contact (even Bryne) and it allowed the attack a bit more time to move the ball around.



I like Shorrock but I really hope that's the last we see of him as a starting forward, he doesn't offer enough go forward and i think we saw how much better our backs can play off the back of a decent forward pack.



Good start by Dupree, has that extra bit of pace and aggression into contact we've been lacking - and certainly something Singo couldn't provide.



Mago is finally showing the sort of form we thought we were going to get from hom - such a shame he's only just starting to do it, hopefully it continues the rest of the season. When Havard is back we will finally have a pretty strong forward pack with Mago's upturn in form and a very promising debut from Dupree.

This is a perfectly good hard tackle. If you can't handle it, go and watch tag rugby.

They will find a way to outlaw it in the off season, I just hope we don't end up with the mess that we have with head contact.



I think you could already deem the technique to be a little reckless as he seems to have no concern about his or anyone else's health.

Thought we played well yesterday. First 30 we were a little off with the ball but I thought our D was good (except the Amone try). The two tries before HT killed Leigh’s enthusiasm I thought and after that it was plain sailing.



Mago, Smith, Dupree, Nsemba, Ellis went well. Miski was a menace throughout that game too. Overall a solid performance.



Felt like a few were playing for the shop window. Mago being one of them, he knows he’s going and playing for a contract elsewhere, which is fine by me in all honesty.



Powell spoke before the game and he seemed like he was resigned to leaving, I wouldn’t be surprised if he signs for Warrington to replace Clarke.

Wire have already signed Brad Dwyer haven't they?

Wigan had Leigh’s moves marked well and we was always going to get pasted. Very well played.



With the players they have signed, Wigan will be team to beat for sure. No reason why they can’t win the big prize after the disappointment of the challenge cup.

Don’t see much up with the Asiata tackle, had last week not happened I don’t think it would even been mentioned.
