Riddell should have planned his wedding and honeymoon for the period of time he was already getting off not at the end of it and be given an extended period off.



He needs as much fitness work as possible and should be in 'now'.

Weddings are usually planned quite a long time in advance aren't they? like before pre season start date was decided maybe?



Hell if i told my lass 'Sorry love but we're going to have to have a short honeymoon as the jobs more important' I wouldn't need to worry about making pre-season training, i'd be too busy in hospital

But maybe his wedding was planned many months ago. I know how long beforehand we had to book and plan my daughters (It was almost 18 months)

He must have had the clubs blessing which is the main thing, to be fair though i can understand where you are coming from as as far as I know most clubs are now fully back some have been for a couple of weeks, i was unsure when we had returned in the past but given the comments on here I would assume it was a good bit later than everyone else, which maybe explains the god awful starts to the season.

Maybe it was planned before the pre season date was known but he must have had a good idea he'd be back around the middle of November?



He has had since the start of October off which is around 4-5 weeks(even if we'd made the Grand final). I'm sure he could have arranged to have a wedding and a honeymoon in that period.



I honestly think it's poor from him but maybe i'm being harsh. I'm not a Riddell knocker either. I've backed him on numerous occasions over the past 12months.

Given Rogues 18 months to book a wedding, he wouldn't even have known he was a Wigan player at the time he booked, let alone what date pre-season training started!

I'm sure it doesn't take everybody 18 months to plan a wedding though................maybe Rouges is a special case





Even if he wasn't a Wigan player he'd have had a fair idea he'd be due back in even at an Aussie club. I saw on the Melbourne schedual they started back yesterday aswell so it's seems a pretty universal date.



I'm possibly just a slave driver but any Australian or Kiwi player that wanted to play for my club would have to play under the same rules as the rest and be back here for the start of pre season or else they wouldn't be signed in the first place.

The Melbourne schedule isn't the same for even all the players in their team, 3 groups: One now, one 30th Nov, Third Jan 11th

The last group are the players involved in the Four Nations.



Piggy wasn't involved and therefore would more then likely be in the first group at Melbourne.



I just think it's abit slack but I can see you romantics points of view that theres actually some importance to a persons wedding day...................i'd rather run around Haigh Hall tbh

Joking aside I noticed on the official web site it says training has begun with hill running at Haigh Hall. Brings back memories of Inga and runs up Rivington.



Piggy may well have had genuine and good reasons to have his wedding now but he isn't doing himself any favours missing out on this part of the training IMO.
