| let's not forget, if a centre can finish off tries on his own back, then let him go for it.
most of the centres mentioned in this thread are all quality players, mostly with international recognition, but that is not simply because they can pass to their wingers. a centre can make his own metres should he wish and there aren't many occasions I can think of where Thornley made the wrong decision that cost us a draw or win last year in my opinion, neither can I really comment in the same respect about the other centres mentioned.
Watkins looked class in the first two games of the 4 nations, only outdone by the aussies really which isn't that big of a deal considering his age and the guys he was up against. I don't recall him making too many passes, but he is there on merit for what he can do elsewhere as well as his "passing to a centre" ability, or lack of.
