Why?



Wilkin makes more tackles, misses less of them, carries the ball more, scores more tries, creates more tries, offloads more, busts more tackles, makes more clean breaks. He gives away more penalties though.



Don't judge Wilkin on him being a poor half back, he's an excellent back rower.



As for your merged team not having Eastmond in it . . . . . .

Hansen to me always looks far more effective. He was the top tackler in the league a couple of years ago.



Wilkin has had alot more gametime than Hansen this season, I would put that down as a reason for worse statistics this year. I am shocked at the missed tackles though

thats not what the origial post suggests. why would Whelan "up the rent" for the team he wants to keep there, which he funds himself?

I would take wilkin over hansen every day of the week.

wilkin has a good kicking game too, from games i've seen. a bit more dirty than hansen who i feel is a more "honest rugby" kind of player - apart from when he's wading in on mason et al - but overall wilkin is a top player although i feel he's dropped from his recent high in form from last year and before this season. but still a bloody good player.



wilkin seems to get himself in on the act a bit more in attack and finishes tries well.



but for me HH has been awesome for wigan every since i've been watching them and this year has surely got to be probably his best form in a wigan shirt, its just been a shame about the injuries. i certainly hope the rumour about him leaving isn't true either!
