Leeds are absolute e. Have they done a Pre-season or what?

They’re missing a few but I’ve not thought much to some of the ‘inventive’ changes made by Rohan Smith going in to the year. Players out of position, short kick offs and drop outs and no captain all just feels like a guy trying to be different for the sake of it, as though he wants to be Rugby Leagues own Pep Guardiola and to be seen as a revolutionary. He had them playing so well at the back end of last season and I just don’t get the experimental nature of their pre season.

Everything they are doing is half hearted and laboured. I reserve the right to comment on Wire until iv'e seen them play against a moving opposition. I still don't think they will be there when the pots are being handed out regardless of how many they rack up tonight.

Aye, it’s safe to say trophies won’t be won tonight. If they can remain this hungry their pack will see them take huge strides forward but we’ll see. Tough to confirm much as you say, given how poor Leeds have been. It’s been a continuation of pre season form for them.

Yes of course. Frightened by a team that has been no where near winning super league during a time when st Helen’s won it with ease, year after year. I put Wigan there because they have no pack and whilst peets game plan of chuck it to field worked for the first half of the season, it was completely Ineffective at the back end of the season.

They looked massively off the pace, and only got the late tries because Warrington had backed off. One of those late tries, the Wire defender made no effort to tackle him at all. They'd clearly put the cue on the rack.



I honestly saw nothing in that Leeds side to worry any other team in the league. There was no danger there at all.



First game, yeah. Too early to say, things can change etc etc. But it sounds as though they've had a clownish pre-season, and I can't help wondering if the Rohan Smith bubble is going to burst in 2023.

Looking at their pre-season you just knew they'd be garbage. People say pre-season is meaningless but you can tell a lot about the attitude of a club and it's players to how professionally they approach everything - training, friendlies, finals, whatever it may be.



I said on TRL before the season started that I thought Leeds would crater this year. I know they were missing a few but there's just something shambolic and soft about them and I have no faith at all in Rohan Smith despite the back end of Leeds' season last year. If he took over at Saints I'd be absolutely terrified.

I will agree with that summary, Smith being lauded as the second coming, half that team last night went hiding. Obviously some to come back in but something does not seem right about the place.

Yeah nowhere near...... Apart from the time we had a last minute match winning penalty awarded to us in a kickable position that sadly for us just fell short.
