| Surely it won't be long before the stadium is given new (long overdue) naming rights.
Whether that be the MD Stadium or a company name it's extra revenue that stupidly has never been sought for.

Nothing to do with Danson/Stadium ownership etc.

Thanks for clearing that up, Jukes.

I must admit initially I was a little surprised with joint ownership message because legally Danson doesn’t own the rugby club and I was unsure how the rugby could gain ownership of an asset belonging to another legal entity without some form of cash and/or shares exchange.
Maybe someone with a better legal understanding than myself could advise/explain how this would actioned i.e. the joint ownership of the ground?

Exactly but it's on the way guessing most know what's happening and that's a to quick on the draw slip up.

| Quote Jason65="Jason65"I agree it was a bad deal, all I know is that we are to get beer and such sales back to the Warriors coffers
I was told this today.
Also told he will have bought the rest of the shares by the end of the year and things all Rugby related will improve as the Tics no longer have any power to dictate.
Loving it at the min.'"
I did know that 2 weeks ago there were stadium/latics employees still trying to exercise the previous regimes practices on us, and a quiet word was had and it was sorted.
I'm reluctant to say too much, because I personally dont want to get into the back & forth of who owns what, my dad's bigger than your dad
Let's just say things are working on a lot more of an even keel
Latics officials will need to get their heads round this, and their fans, I think a large proportion of the fans are realistic enough to understand that the term that is being used since the takeover I.e. "sustainability" is something that we (Wigan rugby) have been doing since 2007, whilst Latics haven't as they were under the Whelan umbrella until 2018, and then the gigantic mess of Chinese then Bahrani ownership for the last 5 years who didn't realise the cost of Not living Sustainably and subsequently didn't want to.
I still see posts now from Latics fans who think that Dansons purchase "Must be" because he's a billionaire who wants to throw hundreds of millions at them.
My take (albeit I can't prove it although I have had conversations with people involved in the processes of the takeover) is that he stepped in as no-one else did, and he's agreed to run Latics Sustainably which, is far far harder in football than in rugby. Losses of 1m a year in rugby and Wigan still are at the top and most people are happy
Latics income plus 1million a year and its league 2 at best etc. On average (I get they could perform well and improve etc. But realistically the budget for income plus 1million a year would have them fighting mod table league 2 financially wise).
They lost 10million ineague 1 to win it
They'll lose approx 15million staying in the championship
Of Dansons sustainability plan is to give them 10/15million a year to achieve that then fair enough
I think it will be the former, and work within that Sustainable budget plan

| The legal ownership may or may not change, but the narrative as Jukesays mentions will certainly change and we'll no longer be treated as second class citizens.
The RP fanzone question is a good one. I'd still prefer to go over there than go back to the south stand. Although I do like Whelans. Quite enjoyable in there after Latics games.

| Not really bothered if the hardcore Latics fans reckon they're top dogs re. the stadium, we only need it once every two years on GF and if we get a home cup/play-off fixture, we've worked more or less successfully around the fixture lists for twenty odd years so there should be even less of an issue now

I can back this up with the pop up stands.
Let's just say don't expect them to be back until next season and what replaces them will be a more suitable, up to standard and permanent structure.
And bloody hell does it need it, missed nearly a quarter of the game last night just queing.

Oh wow, i kept reading after that aswell. Apparently we should have postponed our game last night due to the rain. All in the name of co-operation?
Some people just can't be saved, imagine disliking another club that doesn't even play the same sport as you to the extent that bloke seems to.

The great thing about these type of idiots is that to hate something so much with no way out of that hatred it eats a way at their little unforgiving brain always on their mind filling so much head space that they cannot function normally in society which makes me laugh a bit like WW69 who is obsessed which trying to be controversial he/she/it only manages to look like a tit.
Just a thought maybe these type of fans should really back mental health issue as surely they need a bit of help.

In fairness there is one main idiot in all that who is embarrassing himself with his comments. Another one or two are a bit off but in the main there seems to be a feeling that the clubs working together can benefit both sides and it can. I just hope there’s a future where comments like some of those become less and less and even if people don’t support both, there is no ill feeling to the other side because it’s utterly pointless.
I do get a sense that some Latics fans might think Danson has bought the club to have it as a play thing and because they think he owns only 25% of the rugby, that he might favour the football side of things and even get rid of his stake in the rugby club. Those ones are in for a shock I think. I look at the two signings made by Latics yesterday and this isn’t a venture where money will be thrown at it hand over fist. They will become more sustainable and part of that will be a closer relationship with the rugby club, so guys like the couple of morons on there better get used to it.

Ww69 rota
Go missing for a few days when saint loose
poor attempt at trolling
Go missing for a few days when Wigan win
Try to message normally find out it’s not going anywhere
Poor attempt at trolling
Rinse and repeat
To be fair to most of the latics fans on there they see the benefit and are not kidding themselves with being able to rocket into the prem and win the champions league in a years time (I know that’s not possible) That idiot will still go to Latics games and I imagine still moan when the rugbys mentioned but he won’t walk away as he probs has nothing else to do with his life

| Guarantee that the first Latics game that pitch will have a surface like a snooker table. Same when we complete our final home game late September. Pitch issues during winter are contained around the centre spot and both goal areas, always have.

| Yeah I’d love the flags back up. Seemed to stop around covid years.
I sit in the south stand and there’s still a spray painting of gildart in the 2019 shirt on the concourse.
Also the player pictures by the stairs are from about 8-9 years ago.
Updating them would be great.

| Rebranding of the stadium started with banners showing both teams together on the main entrance wall.
Be great if MD can bring in an outside sponsor for the stadium as a whole, if naming rights could cover the utility bills it would be massive boost for both clubs, might be being a tad optimistic there as I imagine the bills are pretty enormous.
