Fair play to Wellens and the coaching staff playing Vaughan and Sambou in the reserves and now picking Sambou in the first team squad. It would be easy to let emotion take over and dump them, which is what a lot of fans wanted but if you need them, why not play them? Fans of all clubs get emotional at exits but cutting your nose off as a coach, is probably not a wise move, especially if you have to start playing lads out of position, who aren't likely to do as good a job.

Yeah, let's hope we have signed him because he looks a talent. 

I think you have to play your best players available at the time   - especially when you're down on numbers and very few options.     Once you have a full squad to choose from it's a different matter.  


With the changes to contract negotiations taking place 12 months out then teams are going to have to get used to selecting players contracted to new clubs.


It's a short career, players have difficult choices to make as to how they get the most out of their time and decide what's most important to them, whether it's cash, playing time, silverware, well being.
