Lomax and Sailor are looking like one of the leagues worst half back pairings.
No kicking game between them and I saw no evidence of a running game from Sailor.
Welsby was trying his heart out last night but can’t do it alone.
Sadly I couldn't agree more with this, you are absolutely bang on.
Unfortunately unless he gets inured Lomax will not be dropped, he's Wellens big mate and the club captain. It's sad to see that Lomax is finished and unbelievably he still has a contract for next season.
Wellens talks about how good Whitby has looked at Halifax and for the Reserves and that he will get his opportunity but with the games coming up Wellens is fighting for his job. Catalan A (we nearly always lose there even in the good ol Holbrook/Woolf days) then Warrington A in the Cup and Wigan coming up. We could conceivably lose all three of those and even if we beat Wakefield at home that would mean he's lost 5 out of the last 7 games.
That may be enough (fingers crossed) for McManus to pull the plug.
Saints remind me quite a bit of Wigan under Lam when Hastings was here.Hastings wanted (and was allowed) to be conductor, lead violinist, piano player and drummer. I think something similar is happening with Welsby at Saints.
We also signed an unfit Burgess and the likes of Bibby and Singleton.
