Matty Smith for me, he just needs to practise religiously like I assume Pat did. I think theres more chance that Josh would crumble under pressure, he's also been pretty erratic when he's had kicking duty in the pat.

Smith for me as well. Josh is too inconsistent and can never seem to get in to a settled rhthym. If there is a question mark about Bowen's knees then I can't see him being given kicking duties. Plus if he's only sticking around for 1 year we'd have the same issue next year as well.

If Hampshire breaks through and nails a regular spot he is a great kicker.

It's hard to judge Charnley or Smith because until somebody kicks on a regular basis they never seem to build up that consistency. Guys like Sinfield, Jamie Lyon and Paul Sculthorpe were average when they first took up the job but all ended up being excellent kickers.



I'd go with Smith though. He is full of confidence and he looks like a player who's at a stage in his career where he wants to take more responsibility on.

Smith is an Ex Everton footballer, his kicking game has added an extra dimension to us this tear so looks like a good bet to me.
