when people say second most watched sport, its basically comparing like for like.
team sport and is on week after week.
if you lump all football in together then it probably would be second. if you split the football into separate competitions then it would drop a few places.

England international cricket matches get higher viewing figures but I'm pretty sure that viewing figures for other competitions would be muuch lower.

The viewing figures depend massively on whether a sport is on Sky Sports 1 or not.
You can view them by going here www.barb.co.uk/viewing/weekly-top-10? selecting Sky Sports 1,2,3 and4 and then a particular week. A little look shows that Monday Night Rugby didn't rate well at all, yet we are contiuning on with it.  |

IIRC the games were pretty poor, only remember watching saints v leeds and saints v wire, they saved the big games for the friday. I think they showed us and Widnes on a monday, no wonder no one tuned in |
