When will everyone realise that Maguire isn't going to move Sam back into the halves?! Sam at full back is not the problem with the team at the moment. On Friday, too many players were off their game, and we made too many mistakes - bad passes, dropped balls and missed tackles. That's what we need to work on.



I wouldn't make wholesale changes to the side, as I think that would be counter-productive, but I would tweak things a little. In the backs, Roberts was poor in his last run out, and I think Marsh and Charnley deserve to be ahead of him in the pecking order - I couldn't doubt their effort on Friday. I'm still not convinced that Marsh is a better option than Joel at centre, so I'd maybe drop him to the bench.



In the halves, we've missed Deacon imo, and Finch looks to be trying too hard. I think we need to persevere with Finch, as I'm sure he'll come good, but I'd bring Deacs back in too.



We missed young Farrell too on Friday, so if he's fit, he has to come back in. Hoffman had his worst game in a Wigan shirt against Catalans, so I'd be tempted to give him a week off, and hopefully he'll come back full of vigour against Saints.

Sounds a bit like Sam then - average at full back, fantastic in the halves.

With the exceptions of the injured/banned players i would go for the same team with Roberts coming in for Goulding depending on who is playing the better. Goulding is looking shakey at the moment but he did appear to injure himself after taking an high kick on friday. We are a champoin team and the coaching team needs to get the players back to the fast tempo defence; getting off the line faster than the other teams. The Catalans back were allowed to keep the roll on with the defence hanging back and waiting for them and then getting out muscled at the adavantage line.

3 of his 4 MOM performances last season were from fullback and he only did a third of the season there.



It's obviously something we'll never agree on though but like I said if Amos can get anywhere near his previous form he'd be at fullback for me with Sam moving to 6 alongside Finch.

I suggest you get a better source than Dennis Moran.
