Welcome to the NEW RLFANS.COM. After twenty-five years of service, the old site expired over the last few days. To maintain service we have had no option but to make an early switch to the new site which was in development/testing. Some elements of the new site are unfinished, such as; page numbering and quotations. We will fix these minor issues as soon as we can, please bear with us. If you are having problems logging in, please try a different browser or platform, if problems persist then email support@rlfans.com
If the International game is to be taken seriously long term we need all the Home Nations to thrive. I'm all for a GB tour every four years or so but individual countries are the way to go.
With GB, its the Lions crest, the white jumper with the blue and red chevron, its simply Rugby League. The Ashes have to be Great Britain, not England.
I grew up wanting to play for Wigan and beat the Aussies playing for Great Britain. Playing for England sounds 2nd rate when it comes to RL.
I have been watching International RL for nearly 50 years and am proud to say that I have seen Billy Boston, Alex Murphy, Mick Sullivan, Brian McTigue etc., etc., pull on a GB shirt and play with immense pride. To me it will always be GB. I haven't even watched the England game against PNG yet - and I probably never will.
