I never think any player needs longer than a 1 year deal, keeps them keen if nothing else. I know from an admin point of view it'd be a pain, but it'd keep the players keen.

The thing is that I told them that they had one of the beast hookers in the game in Monaghan and that Higham was a waste of their salary cap, and that they would be better off signing another halfback to play alongside Briers, leaving Monaghan and Clarke as hookers.



I wish they had sent Monaghan back to Aus and kept Higham playing.

Also told us Karl Pryce was a good buy.

The whole discussion of who to drop if a new HB was brought in emphasises the issue with what to do with Tommy at 7.



I personally would have brought in a new 7, and rotated Tommy/Riddell/McC over the 9 interchange with 1 of the 3 missing out each week.



I hope that when Fielden's contract is up we use some of the available cap to bring in a quality 7.
