Addmitedly, I don't know too much about the Thomas Gibson Oval but I doubt the facilities for filming DVD's are up to much.

Every game of theirs is filmed on DVD for judiciary purposes. Players get copies and make highlight packages that their agents use to flog them. You'll even find young players posting them on Youtube.
I like you am unsure about the signing but i've yet to see him play. Where we do differ is that you question whether or not a coach has even seen a player before he was signed. Which really is quite ridiculous. Unless, of course, the coach has no say about next season. |

There are plenty of examples of late developers. Jamie Peacock for one. So its unfair to write this guy off before youve seen him play.

I believe that Frank Napoli was signed up after providing some carefully selected video footage, probably pre-DVD. 
I'm not writing this guy off prematurely, it's just that his signing doesn't exactly set my pulse racing. |

I agree, there are players playing at higher levels who'd be better, but they ain't English and playing over here I guess. FYI Bailey is a mate of Millward's.
As for Frank Napoli, what can you say. Outside back, with an EU passport which at that time, got you in there. 2 out of 10 wasn't he? Mark Carroll, a shıt prop for London, but ask aussies how he went. You can never tell how people will go when they fly over there.

I'm aware of all of that happening but signing players solely on the basis of these shabby DVD's is ridiculous to be honest. To get a player a trial or something perhaps, but not for a 2 year deal.

As the article mentioned it was probably Shame Millard who saw him play. I believe he played at Thirroul Butchers after finishing in the UK. Not sure if he is still involved there. |

Signing park footballers is not the way forward for this club. Powell has been able to turn some quite handy SL and NRL players into a team of absolute rabble, imagine what magic he can work with Group League players! |

Yep. jbuzza. But he's now the assistant coach at St George Dragons reserve grade side, the Illawarra Cutters.
Funny enough Glen Air was at the Butchers also. (Let me know when you want your alarm call to wake you) |
