A Harlequins RU website relaunch is of no interest to me!

I believe it had some relevance, seeing aswe are still Quins RL, if only for a few more weeks.

This attitude is one of the reasons the Quins branding has not worked and is being scrapped

Sorry, you're expecting people to still be interested in Quins RU? Why would them re-launching their website be any relevance to us, we already know we aren't going to be Quins RL anymore, unless you still want them to advertise our things? Which, they didn't really do before.

Quins RU put plenty of effort into trying to sell us. Just less so in recent times, when it was completely pointless.

Sorry Dave, and this isn't a deliberate wind-up, but can you remind me how QRU worked to sell us? As I have no contact with QRU fans I've no idea if they promoted us in their programmes for example. All I can think of are the double headers, or at least the 1st one where all the RU fans seemed to ether leave after their game or head for the bar in order to celebrate their promotion.

If that's aimed at me, I'll take it as a compliment!

At the beginning, there was plenty around the ground and in the programs etc. And on the website too. Quins RU fans don't like RL, it's that simple to me. Can't force them to like it. I would behave in the exact same way as the RU fans you mention leaving after their game.

The failure of Quins RL has nothing to do with Quins RU. They gave us a great opportunity (especially at the start of the relationship) which we were unable to take advantage of.

Quins RU tried to latch on to us when it was in their favour such as the website and shop even if you clicked on RL items you always got more of the general brand which never interested me.



At first when we took on the new name of Quins RL I did check out the RU website and forums also follow their progress and results but that soon waned and once we have chosen our name except for temporary using The Stoop that is the only connection just as when we used the ground as London Broncos.

Quins RU tried to latch on to a struggling club within a struggling minority sport ? Yeah right.

So there we were, a club that months earlier had been liquidated due its £3m debt and all along Quins RU were plotting to exploit this to sell a bit of dual code merchandise

It would be mildly amusing to email them and suggest that you thought Harlequins were a Rugby League team and ask why they have switched to playing Union

It no longer has a link to the league quins site, so some will see that as the barometer of increasing hostilities between landlord and tenant and others will see it as two businesses on the one site that share increasingly fewer ties.

Hadn't Quins RU just been relegated around the same time Broncos became Quins RL? Therefore I think the extra income was wlecome at the time

You can understand dual use of a facility or for that matter any third party income steams.



There doesn't have to be a linking of names, sports etc. I suspect Wigan rugby and football have no links-Given Whelans recent "hate" of the Warriors I wouldnt be suprised if there was anomosity in the respetive offices!

Thats's right, but they were promoted back to the top division the next season. It was quite nice being the only top flight rugby club playing out of the Stoop!

The relationship between Wigan Athletic and Warriors is that of Landlord and Tenant as the Football Club since 2009 has 100% owned The DW Stadium. In 2009 Warriors were given a 50 year lease to use The DW Stadium.
