Talking of sandwich fillings……..my old mum like many of her generation always used to keep a bowl of meat dripping (i.e. fat) from the Sunday roasts to use in everyday cooking……..none of these modern fancy cooking oils `drizzled` on your grub!!.
I liked nothing better than a sandwich from a crusty white loaf with a thick spread of dripping and of course plenty of salt…….we might as well have been filling our arteries with Polyfilla……..happy days
