Welcome to the NEW RLFANS.COM. After twenty-five years of service, the old site expired over the last few days. To maintain service we have had no option but to make an early switch to the new site which was in development/testing. Some elements of the new site are unfinished, such as; page numbering and quotations. We will fix these minor issues as soon as we can, please bear with us. If you are having problems logging in, please try a different browser or platform, if problems persist then email support@rlfans.com

You have to be the dullest poster on here. Just reading that hurt my head.
As PP pointed out, its not difficult to keep refs away from their home town team if neccessary and then nobody has any reason to ">complain.'"
People don't have any reason to complain as it is, but they still do.
It might not be difficult to keep Refs away from their home town games but it's actually even easier just to let them ref any game at all, with no consideration whatsoever, other than whatever Mr Cummings and his crew choose to use ie merit, relative experience, strengths/weaknesses of individuals, current form. Where they live is irrelevant.
If people think there's a problem with it, it's [itheir[/i problem. Why should the RFL match officials dep't have to consider other peoples misguided beliefs when selecting Refs? It's best man for the job and nowt else. Where else do we stop - Yorkshire Refs not being allowed to ref games betwen a Yorks team and a non-Yorks team? Ridiculous you say? Why? The same accusations could be levelled here, no? The reality is Refs dont give a toss who is playing as indeed do most speccies, except those who follow the two teams in question and therein lies a hint as to where the problem lies.

Quote ="Rob from Erith"Remember it well, someone should have called 999! I always think of Ganson as being the RL equivalent to (former?)football ref Graham '3 yellow cards' ">Poll.'"
That's a good comparison. Both are better than most others, but each gives the impression of probably practising his signals and card waving in front of a full length mirror.

I started thinking about this after I posted it. How much does Mr Murray charge to attend an event. Surely the opportunity to slag off northerners and the French would appeal....even just to test new material.
Let's face it, he can't be that more expensive than the poor mans Fred & Ginger!

| [iYou walked into the Knowsley hole
Like you were walking onto a stage
Your cards peeping out of your top pocket
Your scarf it was red V
You had both eyes on the mirror
As you watched yourself piroutte
And all the Stains fans dreamed that they'd be your partner
They'd be your partner, and
You're so vain
You know this bloody song is about you
You're so vain
You know this bloody song is about you
You reffed us several years ago
When we were playing 'ull
Final moments the scores were tied
and Moran was waltzing through
But you gave away the things you loved
And one of them was us
Not a pen you decided, oh you decided
Tears in our VB, and
You're so vain
You know this bloody song is about you
You're so vain
You know this bloody song is about you[/i
