That's why Football is pants, you get ripped off, everything is overpriced, the game is generally boring (Barca excluded) there are too many people who go to cause trouble and they can't hold the ale.



Meanwhile in Rugby we have a great time, good prices, good entertainment, great fans and we can hold our ale

Town fans have been singing that for years, I recall back in the mid 90's going down to Birmingham it being sung!!



I for one wouldn't have minded Town winning yesterday but as I've said all along they drew to many matches in the season! Had that 27 matches unbeaten run hadn't been so many draws it would've been more impressive as they would've not needed the play offs! Ah well!

Some of the attitudes shown by the majority of posters on this topic are embarrassing.



I have both a season ticket for Town and Fartown, and to wish any sort of defeat on the town's only other professional sports club is totally and utterly stupid.



Promotion to the Championship would have done wonders for both us and Town, with bigger crowds meaning more revenue to Fartown (although probably not 80% anymore as I think Hoyle is trying to sort out the shares debacle.)



I watched the Fartown match on my phone before the game, and there was plenty of interest from others around me, (all genuine fans btw, not day trippers like a lot were) as to what the Fartown score was, and all were admittedly delighted when I told them that we had won.



I can't believe the first few posters laughing at Town's misery, as I, and am sure plenty of others, would be hurting just as much if Fartown had lost in a final.



I'll be at the Shay next week, and I'll be at the Galpharm next year to hopefully watch Town finally be where we belong.



We've never had it better as a town with regards to our sporting teams, we are heading Super League, and Town have just broken all sorts of records on the way to getting to Old Trafford.



Think we should cut the childish crap and realise that we have two awesome sides in this great town of ours, and hope for once that we can both achieve something special.

For me it's nothing to do with not liking Huddersfield Town. It's just football is soooooo utterly boring, I can't do with watching a set of overpaid acting puny prima donnas.

I feel for the geniune town fans but i have other issues with other Town fans and for their likes wish no success whatsoever....plus being a SWFC fan i have no interest in another football team even if they happen to play in my hometown.

Also i've had to put up with Town fans all season giving it big to me how my team are rubbish and town are the best in Europe etc etc and the last 6 weeks how they are guaranteed promotion etc etc and no one can touch them etc etc and even yesterday morning was recieving texts from people claiming their promotion party had already started so i could'nt help laughing when i watched their untouchable already promoted team collapse in the last 15 minutes !!

It would have lifted the whole town. ATEOTD whilst we have some haters of the association version on here the majority of both sets want Huddersfield Rep sides to do well. If Huddersfield had a tiddlywinks team I would want them to win. EOS.

Becuase, promotion would ultimately meant bigger crowds, which would therefore mean more money being spent in the stadium on such things as refreshments, beer and merchandise.



And, as Ken Davy gets 80% of all of these things, I think its fair to say it would have benefitted Fartown no ends.

No it wouldnt mate, irrelevant what the kiosks make as to what we spend.

No, they are sold under one business - "Sporting Pride LTD" which recieves 40% of anything stadium related.



Granted, the refreshment kiosks are run by a 3rd party, apologies, but anything Davy recieves from the stadium shares could well go into Fartown for all you know!

so are you suggesting that as KD owns Sporting Pride he can take every penny town make and put it into the giants ??

As for KDSL, I'm unsure as to who they are and what they do!



Anyway, back to the point, I still think that, whether you are a fan of football or not, you don't need to support Huddersfield Town in presence, but laughing at failiure, when it could only be good for the Town, to me, seems foolish.

I disagree, i dont think Town getting promoted would have made a blind bit of difference to the Town as a whole except to HTFC and their fans .



Would probably make town fans even more deluded and less likely to want to be 'partners' with the Giants !

Sounds like quite a big stereotype of Town fans that though, just like any other sport fans, we all think our team is 'the best.'



Just like I, and probably you too, think that Fartown are onto something big and could well win either one/two trophies this year. This is only the same as Town fans thinking that we were going to win promotion yesterday, because as form suggests, we were favourites and did have every right to be confident, (and not complacent like the players seemed!)

I had a good day out in Manchester its just a pity we lost at the final hurdle. In a pub on Deansgate there were plenty of Town fans watching and supporting Fartown on the tv and it was good to be able to have a conversation about the game with like minded Terriers/Fartowners during the build up to the play off final.



Given the same predicoment again I'd go watch Town in a big final or important match over a normal Fartown league game just like I go and watch Fartown when the roles are reversed !!!! I support both the football and rugby teams of Huddersfield and will never choose which one I support the most as they both mean a great deal to me just like Daz and Measts support of Wednesday and Fartown. Its not my fault I was brought up to watch Town and Fartown as a youngster by my Dad and Grandad is it
