Welcome to the NEW RLFANS.COM. After twenty-five years of service, the old site expired over the last few days. To maintain service we have had no option but to make an early switch to the new site which was in development/testing. Some elements of the new site are unfinished, such as; page numbering and quotations. We will fix these minor issues as soon as we can, please bear with us. If you are having problems logging in, please try a different browser or platform, if problems persist then email support@rlfans.com

| Marketing and promotion of the World Cup is practically non existant. There is a little bit on BBC only because they are showing England matches. I haven`t seen anything on Premier sports regarding build up, we have to be thankfull all games are on their channel. And SKY all I have seen is updates on Super League news and nothing about the World Cup. You wouldn`t know it`s on which is annoying, if it was rugby union it would be pushed down our throats until we gipped.

| yeh its been poor, dont expect much from sky as they arent really covering it so wont be interested!
i am though so have to go digging for the coverage abit
thought the second half today from england was great, hopefully meet them again in the final now
shame we lost burgess and i feel ratchford should be full back not lomax.
mcgillvary was brilliant as per usual with strong runs, harsh penalty against him.
watching the game was totally different to watching a sl game spoiled by the ref, this game just flowed!!!! please sl take note!!!

| Thank god for Jerry or it could have been all over at half time, thought we weren't too bad but we need Gale to pretend he's playing for Cas - Widdop had to do the job of 2 halves today.

| Jerry played really well with many strong runs, a good try and last line defence plays. Defo a very harsh penalty sgainst him that led to a try for them.
Overall a good first hit out for England and we were better than I expected being the first game and a tough test against the current WC holders. Oz looked poor second half but still have that X factor spine in Slater, Cronk and Smith who were probably the difference. No way did the scoreline reflect the game and given a bounce or two our way the result could have been very different.
Hope Sam Burgess is not ruled out as will need him in latter games. Both sides will improve as tournament progresses so if we get a repeat of this in the final it could be very close indeed.
Here's hoping we cannot only continue to play well/better but also get over Aus should we meet again in the final.
