a lot of this is down to media hype, a few players will be guilty but it wont be as bad as people are making out...one of the problems i have found with some aussie sports..afl not nrl..is that you are allowed three strikes before you are out, so if you are caught taking drugs you are given a warning and you can carry on, the doping agency dont even inform your club for the first two offences, and if you go to the doping agency and plead guilty before you are checked then its not even classed as a strike..
contact sports like afl,league,rugby and football are full of players trying to be better than the rest, some players do go over the limit but lets be honest here its a worldwide problem not just australian. how many british players/athletes have failed tests, we even had a couple at fartown...penky and hudson,because of the vast amounts of money involved in sport people will cheat wether its match fixing/performance enhansing drugs
