Patrick is a player of huge potential, Griffin is reliable and does a solid job, Mason on his day is as good as any prop in the competition so comparing him to those three is praise indeed. Eorl has been poor for me this season and I was worried that giving him such a long contract extension may dampen his effort as he now knows he doesn't have to fight for a new deal. Last season he was outstanding and rightfully earned an improved deal, but the length of it did worry me a bit and I expect better from him in the playoffs and next year to show he is worth the investment. Great players don't stand still, they evolve and improve.

I feel that Earl's performance may have been affected by his testimonial so he is not completely focused

I don't think Crabtree has been poor at all. I think it is down to the role he is been asked to play. If you compare the stas for the last two years you will see he is been asked to work a lot harder both in defence and in carrying the ball. The result of this is his attacking play and offloading has been severly restricted.
