Only problem is your not comparing like for like there, Cunningham's was a punch(illegal in Rugby League last time I checked), Tomkins was a tackle (around the legs completely legal and how it used to be done in the olden days!!)
Cunningham was still stood up and as Tomkins made contact the ref had not blown the whistle so fair game in my book. />
Hence no outrage but if he had punched him I would have backed you 100%
