Shame there appears to be some bad taste between both Leigh and Salford, as a further mid week friendly was hoped to have been arranged between the clubs in what would have been a fantastic few days in revenue for you guys.

id like to see a friendly for sure but why would it have been fantastic few days in revenue, Featherstone bring more fans they you guys do.

A Salford friendly with the squad riches they have would be a far bigger draw than a Fev one, awful night last season drew 2k with a decent Salford support. This season played on a sunday would double that imo

Remember Mo this is a club who attracted less than 4K at the back end of the season and an owner who is constantly slating his fan base and the ground they have..... i wouldnt share your optimism on this one but hope your right!!

Fev have no chance of a decent following to compare with Salfords for a pre season friendly at LSV when we have at least 3 further fixtures against them - but I dont think Salford are on the target list if JGR is accurate

Salford were approached for a friendly, I believe for the week after the Wigan game however there was a reluctance on our part primarily because we already have games against Championship and Championship 1 opposition in Dewsbury, Swinton and Fev lined-up and secondly there appears to be some form of bad blood emerging between the clubs (all to do with the whole Ryan Brierley saga no doubt).

nope, its to do with Mr Koukash launching his teddies when he and approached and subsequently was refused a ground share with Leigh, the good doctor is unhappy at the amount of money he is throwing at the AJ Bell money pit and believes the stadium is affecting attendances.



I would not be surprised to see the Red Devils on the move in the near future.

Haven't heard that one, possibly because it isn't true. I would have thought Leigh Sports Village Company would have been more than happy with the additional income they would have earnt from Salford playing their home games from the stadium.



It is however well publicised how unhappy Koukash is with the arrangements which the previous Salford ownership agreed to with regards to the lease agreement with the stadium management company. The stadium isn't what is affecting attendances though, the product on the pitch is. We started last season full of optimism against Wakefield with a crowd of 7,200 however a few defeats in the weeks following off Warrington, St Helens and Widnes resulted in a downward spiral of numbers.



The club are more than aware that the only way we'll break the 7,000 plus mark in future is if the team are doing the business on the field.



PS - anyway, back to Moi Moi....

Maybe the Doc feels he backed the wrong horse, after all LSV is much closer to home for him but the Brierley affair is probably a factor
