I've watched this game 3 times now and for the life of me I cannot believe that hardened professional rugby players are whining like they are.

First half both teams were equally at each other and it worked in Bradfords favour. Second half it was almost all coming from Bradford. We obviously got a good talking to at half time about "play rugby and they can't match us".

Second half we played rugby and didn't rise to the rough house and niggle of Bradford. The rest is history as they say.

Put simply,

First half we both niggled and played rough.

Second half we didn't get drawn into Bradfords attempt to continue it and put us off our game.

Bradford got drawn into our rough tactics, hog wash !

We Rose above their rough house tactics and got the win

im glad you think differently than your star player, coach and captain then. There view is at best bizarre and at worst scandalous.... see you in the summer...

If by that he means that the team HE put out wasn't fast enough and fit enough to live with us in the second half, and HE wasn't able to coach his team at half time like PR was, then I suppose he may be right

I couldn't believe he said that especially in to a video camera, really strange comment to make.

All this tripe that the coaching and playing staff of Bradford Bulls are putting out is nothing but a bug in the ear of the referees for our future games. They would not bring their selves to such a level if they thought it didn't benefit them in future matches. As bad as diving if you ask me.

Embarrassing from Bradford, you can imagine Jimmy Lowes mentioning it once (if that's how he feels) but to 'go on' about it, and other players join in. Guess the 2nd half scoreline didn't help, even if they were much better than us in the 1st half.

Don't know why they are so upset, I imagine they will finish top or 2nd in the championship, guess they must feel like this game was a real 'marker' and they blew it, when really it was just the 1st league game of the season.

They are still banging on about their loss on their forum ....even trying to use comedy at intervals ...I've had my username changed 3 times already ....i nearly "wetmypants"

I actually stated beforehand that a lot of responsibility should lie with the players to ensure the referee gets the opportunity to do his job properly

That's good news for Bradford, they tried to rough it up all match and couldn't handle Leigh when we played expansively.

At least he's come up with something specific, rather than the stock "niggle" accusation.



There was definitely one dodgy tackle to the knees, Acton was sin binned for it, and rightly so.

If they think we were 'amateurish' just wait till they play the rest of the league.

Biggest load of crap iv ever heard in my life, its rugby league not a game of chess, anything thuggish the ref sorts out end of. Its down to each team playing to there strengths and the opponents to combat any tactics used. Sour grapes and Prima donnas spring to mind. theyv some more to have week on sunday that I can assure them

I think Jamie's tackle was over zealous at the worst. The new rules on cannonball tackles are that if the tackle forces the knee to bend in it's normal way then it if fine. It is when these tackles come from the side that they are a sin binning. As stated by Mr Cummings on the SL game last Thursday. My personal view is that all these tackles should be banned unless the initial contact is just below the butt cheeks. A lot of weight any lower forces the foot to bend in a abnormal forced direction and could potentially damage or snap the Achilles. Another ambiguous rule that is so open to different reffs opinions. Why can't they make it more clean cut.

But the specifics he came up with are "a couple of tackles through the back of the knees" which according to the rules is Not "dodgy".

As for his theory on this league being less expansive, I would suggest that the second half display from our boys makes that comment seem idiotic. Expansive is exactly how I would describe our play. Tries from sets that almost all started from well in our own half, and were scored out wide on both sides of the field.

I await the next pearls of wisdom from the the obviously far to superior for this league Bradford. Some of the comments aimed at this league in general in the last three days have been plain ignorant and rude. But good on em for making every match from here forward harder for themselves.
