Don't care where I get the news from, as for the official web site being behind its not their fault that news gets leaked out before they want to reveal who has signed ,you are getting the good news from other sources so whats the problem , not everyone uses a computer believe it or not so they won't be bothered that it wasn't on the Leigh site first ,as long as its good news it can come via smoke signals for me

There appears to be a number of 'fans' who don't want the news to appear through the official channels, or who are critical of the club's communications.



Once upon a time, you were told next to nothing about the club, which is now being run more openly than I ever remember it having been run. Whatever you have been told in the pub, or on other club websites, or via players' tweeting' the majority of the named signings have only put pen to paper, in the last couple of days or so. Until they actually sign the contract, they are not Leigh players.



I will repeat - they only got their final 2011 wage payments last Friday. Would you sign a new contract, for 2012, before you have been paid your outstanding wages for 2011?



We are trying to provide you with news, as quickly as it becomes 'official'. If that's not good enough for you, then please carry on making up your own 'news'.

I just have to stick up for some here.



Over the years there have been times when players or news has been announced that shouldn't have been... remember Alan Hadcroft signing for us when he went off to Halifax for example? My own announcement gaff about a shirt sponsor way back in 2002 when the site was in my hands?



It happens and Andrew has a policy that unless it has been officially ratified he doesn't put it on the official website.



Also the club will usually make deals with local press to reveal certain signings and give them a bit of exclusitivity, otherwise what is the point of local media?



Rather than lists appearing on who had signed, I wanted to speak to a few people so chatted to Riddy, Jimmy and Mado about their re-signings and worked them into an official press release that has taken a little time to get ratified and appear. I'm hoping to help the club a little with some press releases etc with my experience.



We are up to speed now and just to highlight what is next to come, I had a lengthy chat with Bob Beswick that I'll be converting into a story to appear at some point over the next couple of days.



The club are looking at developing social media channels. It's an avenue that I do not believe sports clubs fully understand or utilise yet but with other things happening, broadcasting and the like 2012 is going to see improvements.

Thing is Alan now that the club are rebuilding and have a team for next season some people need something else now to moan about and they don't care what it is as long as they get a good dose of it

Good to see the signings made official by appearing on the website.

Whilst I understand it can come across as slow in releasing signings (compared to someone releasing something on Facebook/ Twitter) it is the official line when everything is confirmed, a lot of the others are players typing I have signed for x, y, z so cannot be classed as a official club release.

Hopefully we'll see a full list of all players movements when things become official (and include those who left).

The website is the first point of contact for many who don't live and breath the club, certainly any new fans would look there first so the importance of it is huge.

Lets not ruin some great recent news by falling out folks. We are Leythers not Pie Eaters.

Why would we want another hooker, Beswick, Nicholson and Duffy to sign this week.

Beswick is going to play 13.

When he was sat next to me last week at the LISA meeting I asked him and he said his prefered position is 9 but he can play others

Shame as could have made a good SL 13 IMO.

I',m telling him nothing I was told he was playing 13 by the man who signed him to play 13.

Just seen it mentinoed on the Catalans board that Reardon is currently playing in France for Carcassonne.

Reardon would be a top signing for anyone in this division but his contract demands would preclude us from any interest and there will be a lot of young ex super league players released soon who will be a better bet.

Yep Stuart Reardon is already playing in France. Watched him throughout last season and he was a poor shadow of his former self. Only stepped up when Crusaders went to the wall and he needed to secure a new contract. Best left in France.
