A decent signing but be careful not to build him up into something he was a few years ago. He will be 36 next year and it will have then been two years since Nobby said that. He has had two poor seasons down under so I suspect he is coming over here to earn a nice little pension in his last year. Please, I am not having a dig here but simply looking at it as a nice signing for one year and adds a bit of fun for supporters anticipating something new. If he is on about £120k would you rather have him or would you rather spend that on a mid-twenties player who is about to make a big name of himself who can give you 8-10 years and still be there when you get promotion?

Still a decent signing though for the 7 months he will be here.

Ages the players will be during the up and coming season or in Menzies case the age he was when he played his last game.



All played consistently well in SL without a doubt while being 35 or 36 - fact



Fui currently 35 will be 36 at the back end of the season(end of September)



It's not about age sometimes, it's about attitude, application and desire.



If Fui has this, and everything I have seen and know of him he undoubtedly has, he will rip our division apart and go on to help us achieve our dream to play in SL which I hope he stays for the journey.

The Watcher has been reluctant to post about Moimoi because he has a different opinion to almost all the contributors so far, however the more he thinks about this signing the more he feels his view is worthy of writing. We as a club have been down this road before signing very senior players who have had great careers, J Roper, D Fleary, R Paul, S McCurrie, R Goulding & V Mautautia to name but a few. None of whom did very well, in the Watchers eyes, we as a club are very blessed in the prop forward department are we not? If Leigh as a club have got a few quid to sign a marquee player why oh why have we not been out & signed a top level 6, 7,2 or 5? Surely that would have made more sense, get someone in where we are a bit short on top class talent. The Watcher does hope his reservations about signing MoiMoi are unfounded & that he does put 150/200 on the gate & is a roaring success but he wont be holding his breath.

Probably because one of the main problems the game faces is that top level half backs are in very short supply, with Ridyard, Brierley , Reynolds, McNally & Ward I'd say we're actually quite blessed with talent in halves.



Yes we do have a lot of forwards but that's a good thing, most likely to get injured, most in need of rotation, sure Rowley can never have too many.

The fevfan76 is wondering what all these off field benefits are. Does the Maurice really believe the fans will flock to see this curly haired prop. The Fevfan76 feels that if I was a Leigh fan who had stopped watching a few years ago for whatever reason, then the success of the team last season would have brought me back or at least rekindled my interest. The fevfan76 believes that If winning every week and looking like getting in SL isn't gonna bring fans in then nowt will. Not even MoiMoi.



The (I cant be d any more). A few years ago when we got dumped for SL and had all the talk about mergers. Lots of fev fans stopped watching a vowed never to come again. I know people who still wont, but many have come back due to our recent success. Its success that will bring fans back, watching a winning team or gaining promotion to SL. Thats something I think you would achieve without MoiMoi.

The watcher's examples of experienced players signed and 'not done well', is quite comical. Jon roper for one bagged a few tries for us, Robbie Paul dove on the loose ball at Blackpool that won us the cup. Then there's the omissions from your list, like Murphy, swann, Jules o'neill, tommy Martyn,Simon Knox, Paul rowley, Ollie Wilkes and far too many more to name.

I hope that Leigh Centurions have acquired the services of Mr. Moi Moi within the bounds of the Championship salary cap. If this purchase is not all above board, then it will likely come back to bite you.
