It is similar to lob scouse. Over the years Leythers have refined the recipe. Some add carrots to the beef potatoes and onion. You need to make it with a good stock and at Christmas a refined Leyther living in an exclusive part of Salford has been known to put in Asparagus too although that is an addition too far for the purists.
