I didn't know about Joe's appointment when I posted the news on Phil's appointment. Well done Joe. For the first time in years -blue eyed boy James Child isn't anything on the day, not even reserve referee/TJ...........he must be ill haha

There's quite a few Leythers performing at Wembley this year. My daughter and some of her team mates from Leigh Gymnastics club (Venom cheerleaders) will be on the pitch at half time performing a rugby related routine. There's about 200 of them altogether but look out for the girls in white /red - they're the Leigh/Wigan contingent.

I do think Bentham is probably the best ref, most top refs you think "Yep, got that right." Bentham you think "Eh?" see the slow-mo close up replay and say "Actually that's spot on." Congratulations Joe Cobb too but I'm still not sure why on a weekend with no other fixtures they don't use the other experienced top referees as touch judges.
