One of the things that I noticed was the absence of flat passing and marginal forward passes. They used to pass the ball into the space in front of a team mate so he could run on to it.

It was a good example of how coaching ideas have changed and not for the better.

Or how to pass the ball 20 yards back before any forward movement......
