Quote mr. chairman="mr. chairman"not sure if its because of the millward factor but ian does see the game differently than most people , he seems to care about the game as a whole instead of just being blinkered by one club , we talk the same language which helps and he is respected in the town so yes he can make a big difference but its a two way street and everyone as to buy into what kind of rugby town we become , one mans vision aint going to change the world as one man doesnt know everthing but helping each other is a big step in the right direction ,
your spot on glow what you say can happen , jimmy is a hero at leigh east and if robbie paul did turn up at training then we all know what would happen robbie paul can do more for leigh off the field than he can do on it , maybe thats why they signed him , i remember trent barrat doing a presentation at the old leigh east clubhouse , the place was bouncing mums dads and the kids wanted a piece of him that night , he became their hero in one night , regarding tickets all junior rugby players registered with a amatuer club should get free or discounted tickets because this will also help the amatuer club to attract players . giving free tickets to schools makes the children lazy supporters make them work for their free tickets by joining a community club'"
Agreed the kids who are playing should see it as a kind of reward and not only that they and the families, have already shown an interest in the game and more likely turn up than simply handing out free tickets at ST Joes.

I posted earlier as a ' devils advocate ' to generate and stimulate some brain action , it seems to have worked icon_wink.gif" alt="icon_wink.gif" title="Wink" /> i'll do it again now
The problems with building relationships between Amatuer and Pro clubs is compounded quite often because of the high turnover of staff at pro clubs , look at the number of scouts , coaches , player performance managers and players at Leigh Centurions in recent years
Until that is sorted it will always be a struggle
No disrespect to Gary Eccleston , but with his association with Ince rose Bridge there will alway be people at other clubs who will find fault or point out supposed favouratisms , it is human nature
If you look a W1g4ns recent junior development , part of the successes Dean Bell had was because he was seen as totally impartial , ie no previous affiliation with any local club |

Interesting read.
Hope the local clubs can help each other, and this meeting is the start of that. Though I remember similar meetings taking place while at HP and then it kind of fizzled out - well hearing what came of them that is.
