| Juniors for just £5 in all stands is indeed a pretty good offer but with adults full price it is again disapointing to see no other special effort being made to attract fans to the game. Attendances at playoffs in recent years has been very poor - the step up from season ticketed games to full price tickets is surely a factor. Especially when a) the game is on TV b) not our traditional matchday c) if we lose there may be another two playoffs to come d) if we win we may be playing the same opposition again in two weeks time. Some marketing / special offers would surely help getting more people in.

| Personally I'm made up with that kids for a fiver offer. My girlfriend's 13 year old son (currently in his second season of watching us and a season ticket holder this year) will be there with me.
I actually told him weeks ago that the only play off game I'll be taking him to (aside from the final if we get there) is in week one because we can't get knocked out. If we lose in week two or three I'll want to be on my own on the way home, and he won't want to be in my company anyway! The same applies if we lose in the final too (which he experienced last year) but I couldn't make him miss that.
I honestly feel ill thinking about this play off series though. I'm desperate for us to win it and every time I start to doubt that we will (which is often) it starts winding me up. Rather than looking forward to it, I just can't wait 'til it's over.

| I can't see how this week address the play off attendence issue. There are pretty much two home games guaranteed left, possibly against the same team, with the first game virtually meaningless.
Charging full price for adults, especially season ticket holders, is disappointing and will put people off.

I'm assuming it's the same price for visiting fans ........ so they'll be in the same boat as us lot.
U16's will go at £5 each, and the adults will go the pub and spend their £20 there.
..... it'll sound like a schoolboys international from the 70's .... a few thousand high pitched voices echoing around an empty stadium.

Once again I find posts like this amazing. people have been saying all year that the season starts with the play-offs, then sure enough it's, 'they're charging full admission, it's really disappointing, and the first game of the play-offs is virtually meaningless anyway.' How many more excuses and whinges do you want to make?

Tee Side you make a really good point. Posters have been saying since Febraury that Regular season games are just friendlies before the main event in September. Well now the 'Main Event 'is here & I will be there to enjoy all our Play off games.
£19 for a South stand ticket to watch Wire Vs Wigan or Wire Vs Leeds is fantastic value.

Hooray! Someone's got it at last. Look at Bradford and Wakefield. Charge at below the going rate and finish up in financial trouble, is that what people want? Then again, as rogues said, the same people who scream about having to pay 319 to watch us play Wigan or Leeds will also be screaming when they can't get the GF tickets they want.

Can you find where I have said the season starts with play offs?
I've got a season ticket and have been to all but two of the games on it and will also be there for the play offs regardless. But if you have the chance of playing two identical games where it only matters if you win the second then people aren't going to turn up.
The club or RFL must be slightly concerned hence the drop in kids prices. They don't go far enough in my opinion. Buying a season ticket gets you into games for £14/15. The extra cost of attending two extra games is too much for people.

Read it properly. i didn't say you. Try watching the Wire from a distance, then you'll spend some money. £19 to watch good class RL is cheap. Give me a football club where you can get a good game for that sort of money.

You quoted my post where I'm complaining abut the prices, said they're disappointing, and mentioned the first game doesn't mean much by saying you're amazed when people complain about the prices, say they are disappointed and mention that the first game is meaningless. You've even included speech marks.
Then you go onto say 'How many excuses do you want to make'. I don't think anybody else has complained so far so I guess 'you' means me.
Is £19/20 value for money for Warrington v Wigan? It's not a bargain but it's alright. Is £19/20 value for money if you have to pay it again two weeks later for the same game? Maybe, but it de-values the first game, surely.
If it is to be us v Wigan twice, it might not be an issue but you can bet if play off attendances are low for the play-offs in general, people will be looking for answers again, and the answer is that the thought of paying out for two, possibly three play off games and then a final (with no concessions) from the same months wages (not forgetting this weekends game), then it means people will prioritise and skip the early play off rounds.

People have been saying the same thing all season. Then when it comes to the play-offs they've got yet another ready made excuse. If we don't support our own club we'll finish up in the condition that a few others are in. in my opinion £19 to watch Wire v wigan or Leeds is a bargain.

Yes. It will be interesting to see how their crowd compares to what they might expect from a season ticketed game. If its not much down then the offer has worked. If it is still quite a bit down, then the offer means they have simply lost money. I think this would be the argument of our club - they don't feel discounted tickets bring in enough extra people to offset the loss. I'm not convinced either way.

Is that the first 5,000 from Huddersfield, or both Clubs? From what I can remember, last time Huddersfield had a home play-off game they drew about 4,300, last year I think we got over 8,000. If we gave that sort of discount we would have to fill the HJ to be anywhere near breaking even.

But instead of a damp atmosphere from a half empty stadium, you get a packed stadium, so better atmosphere, and all the extra drinks/food/programme sales that come with the additional punters inside the ground ...... and as (IIRC) ticket sales go to the RFL to be shared amongst the playoff teams, these on site revenues are what the home team actually benefits from!
