Tom Johnstone would have just put both in the corner . . .

What I saw tonight was two good teams putting a right shift in after playing earlier in the week....I don't know how these fellas get up in the morning after a game. Yes there was more skill in the 80s 90s but by god I watched some.crap back then with Brendan Hill flopping to the floor every time the chunker got it. I watched that match with someone who had never seen the game before and she LOVED it. Also kendall wasn't great but bloody Nora it was better than the officiating I used to watch...anyone remember dessie's knock on at Leeds?'"
Great point. Before I got that point of your message I thought "I bet a person just getting into the sport would have loved it".
The skill level wasn't exceptional but it was still entertaining, and that's all that matters.

| Quote ="christopher"Leeds fan here in peace.
That was a great game to watch and both sets of players did well considering the turnaround.
As bad as a decision the Charnley ‘try’ and VR balls up did not cost us the game your guys just managed the game far better in the last 5-10 minutes.
Enjoy the win, as a Leeds fan im just glad we’re competing again with the top sides'"
Thanks for your honest post, as that must have been a tough defeat to take. As Gale said post match that Leeds had enough opportunities to win the game and they were to blame not the referee (or words to that effect). You've some winnable games coming up, if you can win 3 out of the next 4, that might build some momentum to make the play offs.

| Just back and one advantage of the away end is that it's conducive to not knowing what's going on half the time.
I'll take the win thanks as I thought our number was up when Hughes went off so fair play to Walker skipping over and Williams pinching it its a good two points IMO following a pee poor first half

Cheers as I say not that tough because 2 yesrs ago we wouldn’t have even been in the game! Im just happy we are starting to look something like again.
Interestingly Austin didn’t play great, it was his chance to show his new employers what they’re getting aswell

Maybe he did exactly that.
Fair play on your honest assessment though. Kendal is shocking, it was an entertaining match and I obviously enjoyed the result but he got so much wrong. The first half was frustrating, probably down to the short turnaround.

Shocking first half but if Dwyer and Myler's form are anything to go by, Austin will be SOO standard if he comes to you, especially against us

How come you only ran off 3 subs tonight?

I think the first half you score we score nature was just down to tiredness on both sides the schedule must be difficult for the players

Don’t know, bizarre with the short turnaround, Agar has got more right than wrong recently but I think he made some bizarre decisions tonight with regards to the subs

| Rugby League remains the best sport to watch.
I really enjoyed the game. Of course, we can play much better but so could Leeds. Lots of mistakes and wrong decisions but loved it. Those who didn't enjoy it should watch a game of tip-tap or South Africa v Lions or a full game from Rugby League in the past. Perhaps rugby league isn't for them and they ought to find something else to do instead of moaning.
Who knows how the season will pan out. We could lose to half a dozen clubs in the league and beat everyone ... but that's sport.

Look, there is absolutely nothing wrong with pointing out that the quality of the game is rotten. You might find mistakes aplenty entertaining, some people don't.
Personally, I found last night (& most games this season) a difficult watch. A close finish doesn't make up for the preceding 70 minutes being of a poor quality.

Sorry of course it is my opinion. But why oh why do you keep watching if it is giving you no pleasure? There are other things to do. Stop watching, stop moaning on this forum there is new world out there for you.

| A mistake laden but compelling contest in my view. Never knew what was going to happen next. Harsh to criticise the players on such a short turn around.
Charnley has reverted to boogering around in the tackle which really annoys me. Toby King still some way off his best.
I’m not sure what the call should have been on the Charnley 2 nd try. My gut feeling was he didn’t ground the ball, BUT that Dwyer stole the ball in the tackle with more than one player involved. I suspect that would then have been a penalty try but Sky were noticeably shy about that issue!
The Newman try was class, but perhaps a little early to deify him.
Akouala putting in his usual stint…
Cooper put in a real shift and Ratchford showing again that full back is his natural position. Danny Walker could and probably should have been brought on earlier.
A win without really clicking.
I still think this is the game for me!

No, you can steal the ball in the tackle over the try line. However I think Dwyer then went into touch so it would have been Wire ball.

It's probably a lifetime, emotional connection to the club, same that goes for why most sports fans follow their teams through thick and thin, that keeps me watching. Certainly, if last night's game hadn't involved Wire, I'd have switched off about 20 minutes in.
Like I say, if you find mistake-athons entertaining, then fill your boots, I just find it a frustrating and, eventually, tedious watch. Yes, I know sport is unpredictable and not every game can, or will be, a classic, but I think too many RL games are now error strewn affairs and badly officiated, and that can't be good for the long term future of the game.

Did you play much? Cos I reckon those who played or coached tend to have a bit more sympathy ... everybody who has played has dropped the ball and missed a tackle even when they are trying like hell ... unless of course you are Garry Schofield.
