Kelly Shelford was a long way short of Mike Gregory, he wasn't even in the same league. Comparing those two is like comparing Owen Craigie to Paul Sculthorpe, Craigie had his fans for his creativeness with ball in hand as well.

In the same league as what ? I referred to Kelly Shelford being more dangerous with ball in hand than Mike Gregory, i also went on to say that i prefer a more attacking style of pivot player along with every fan will have different ideas of their favourite type of player.



Mike Gregory was a great organiser, a motivator and an endless work horse. You must have been watching a different game back then if you thought Mike Gregory was a more creative player than Shelford was.

I think there are some certs if you go for post 1970.... John Bevan (how people can pick Dessie above John Bevan I don't know), Boyd and Morley, Jiffy, Mike Greg, Bob Jackson, then you get to opinion - Parry Gordon or Alfie? Woods or Briers? Tamati or Ashcroft or Monaghan? Hesford or Whitehead? Too difficult to do!
