As an aside, a decade or so ago, the "lovefest" for Trent Waterhouse was in overdrive

I never got it. He never let us down, but not outstanding.

Fitzgibbon, in the same mould, IS outstanding. He's a presence.

Jenna Brooks asking Smith how they lost, "injuries aside". Not like we were missing anyone, was it? The Leeds love fest is mental.

The forwards really stood up.

Harrison took up the Vaughan role and led from the front.

Crowther was incredible at prop. He must be the most unsung signing we've made in recent years.

Fitzgibbon impressed throughout - particularly in the 1st half. (Didn't notice the 'niggle' some have mentioned).

But for me Ben Currie was mom. He is relishing playing at 13. He's got the size and skill, and showing what he can do both offensively and defensively. The short pass for Bullocks try was sublime. This is a different Ben Currie to the one we've seen post injury. The coaches are using his assets far better.

Lots of other good performances. Williams is the brains.

Take a bow Matty Ashton for the 1st half try saver. He is so quick.

Also congrats Ratch - slotted in and did a thoroughly decent job. Great kicking as usual.



We still have problems on the right (Wrench 2 on 1 wtf) and I thought Dufty was a little off despite his try.

Next week will be interesting but we're definate underdogs.



A comfortable scoreline in the end although it flatters a little, and it's going to be very interesting to see who is in the 17.

Another game we would have struggled in last season

It does seem wild that we picked up a mid-career guy who could hardly get a game for Wakefield during their abject relegation season and he has proven excellent both in attitude and ability.

Don`t think you were at your best but did what you had to do against one of the worse performances from a Leeds side since our rubbish displays from last season!

Both sides had a couple or three missing from the 17 yet your replacements played far better than us.

I thought Harrison, Crowther and Currie were in a different class to our forwards and there was no pressure on Williams to prevent him running the show.

Personally I don`t think the ref got a lot wrong so not sure how we were "unlucky" with the decisions.

Also not sure why some of you are having a go at Wilkin.

If I didn`t know better I would say he put a tenner on Williams get MoM the way he was going on about him



But watch out next season as we move to our 9th year of rebuilding!

Great performance from us, thought we were on it from the start…bar a few slips which are part and parcel of the game. Love the culture, love Ratchford keeping everyone else on their toes, Harrison is a brilliant player, Fitzgibbon is my new hero and there’s lots of other things to like.



Oh and well done Joe Bullock

I know we're only a few games in, but already the decision to give Big Sam the coaching role seems a good one, and no interference from kisscam Karl either, what a bonus!

Well we’re clearly not miles behind Catalans (and we’re improving week on week)….genuinely Saints don’t scare me as their attack is pretty toothless, Wigan the benchmark but I think we look tasty.

Was he a powell signing?

Lots of dislike for the commentary, but on reflection they weren’t wrong. We struggled in large parts of the game. We had lots of the ball but didn’t make great meters. Without Vaughan, I would guess that only Crowther made 100+ meters in the forwards.



That said, we used the ball well. I maintain that Currie is the best at the club. The Bullock try was top drawer the way he told it, sold it and played it.



Lots to work on, but without Vaughan, Musgrove and Philbin we dug deep and got the job done. Need to be better than that next week though.

Crowther was out of sorts at Wakey.

The Wakey forum users telling us that his brother is better, and we’d signed the wrong one.

A player few had heard of until hecarrinvef. , but he’s punching above his weight.



I raised an eyebrow when I saw him listed at prop.

Not only that, I assumed he’d be spelled frequently just giving the real prop lads a break, but he never fatigued!

He wasn’t even rested in the first half where Harrison was.

Great attitude to put his had up and do a shift and some, while Currie who is at Crowthers position has been undroppable

Looking like next week is the true acid test. Last year both Wigan and Saints nullified any bite we may even have had, so it will be interesting to see if/how we take the game to them next week. Bring it on, can't be any worse than the cup game against Wigan last year!

Philbin and possibly King will be back for Saints but no mention of Musgrove. I’m hoping his leg injury isn’t too bad but it didn’t look great when he came off last week.

Best I can say about this group of players is more is to come.. you get the feeling that they’ve not clicked properly yet. some good individual performances in most games with the same players standing out week on week..Burgess seems to have them playing as he wants and the team spirit looks good which is a massive plus for any team wanting to win the trophies on offer.. continue on this projection and who knows what will happen at end of the season..

For me, Philbin wouldn’t be getting back into the 17.

Yup, bullock all rhe way, although I'd say philbins stint covering at 2nd row was better than any of his performances at prop recently.
