Yes, that's true. I think my point is that it's a far more of a culture shock than many seem to realise its going to be, not helped by them being shipped over here as we enter winter, when the UK is a very dull and depressing place and they have left Australia as summer is beginning - I can't imagine anything worse personally and some of them must wonder just what the hell they have let themselves in for.

| Depends how you view it. Newcastle in Australia is a right dump btw.
Warrington will win no beauty prizes but it does have some nice parts. If you like city life you have two world famous cities on your doorstep. We are ideally positioned for North Wales, Peak District, Lake District, North Yorkshire, Trough of Bowland and Shropshire and even more beautiful places a little further afield….and that’s before you think about travelling to Europe.
Personally I think living in this part of the world is magnificent, much more to enjoy than a few beaches and some pretty cities miles away from each other…..and then there’s all the animals that want to kill you.

I personally think the UK is a hole and isn't helped by terrible, unpredictable weather, though we're probably veering into a non-rugby related debate at this point..
It's why I try to spend as much time as I can anywhere but here...

| Quote Barbed Wire="Barbed Wire"If Currie goes to the right, you absolutely have to play Wrench at centre and Thewlis on the wing. He is quick, and can pass short and long, even kick behind. There is no point putting a slow centre between him and Thewlis.

| Quote Dita's Slot Meter="Dita's Slot Meter"The problem with many of these Aussie fellas is that they rock up thinking its going to be big city living in a place like London or Manchester, but then quickly realise that Warrington (& much of Northen England) is a boring, grey hole, with very little going for it.
The only ones who seem to endure any length of time here, are the ones who discover the sunnier spots of Europe and manage to escape there at regular intervals.'"
So live in Manchester then, its a wonderful city and its hardly a great distance away.
However, this issue seems to affect us more than most (certainly of late) and Warrington is like Manhattan compared to most SL towns. So maybe there is some other reason?

| Genuine question (my memory is shocking) but who has toddled off due to homesickness recently? Tom liked it here but his wife didn’t - fair enough, McGuire has gone for other reasons, Dufty apparently not keen but he’s still here, Roberts we were all glad got homesick. Vaughan is embracing the lifestyle by all accounts. Just not sure the problem is as big as we’re making out….though I’ve probably made a glaring omission.

That Greek fella, name escapes me. Billy Dropalorrapasses or something.
Inglis waited till the cheque cleared then scarpered rather than give something back via coaching or modelling expensive training tops.

Forget Lachlan Fitzgibbon, what about Bradman Best? Still young and a potential solution to our centre problems. I'm sure he'd look great in Super League. Not sure what sort of deal he's on at the Knights though. Seems to have all the passion and determination that we're missing.

Tastier than my dear old grans homemade scones and jam, and probably as enjoyable in bed with a brew.

| More twists and turns than a twistyturny thing, if we re-evaluate this signing.
Did the board
a) give Powell one last signing, on the hope of a MASSIVE change of form
b) sign him off their own back (wouldn't be the first time) and hope any incoming coach actually likes Fitzgibbon
or
c) tap up Holbrook a month ago, and ask him for his wish list.
It's a high risk way of doing things

Powell had full control of recruitment, so whoever does take over will basically be coaching his squad next year.
So, if we were to be successful next year, then Daryl could legitimately claim to be a very good director of RL and could come back and take that role and leave Karl to look after the club's Facebook account?

Tyrone Roberts went home early, I wonder if he ever cashed in the generous offers a few posters on here had made to drive him to the airport and pay for his flight back

You seriously think we look good on paper?
Personally, I think we have Williams and Vaughan who stand out, the rest are mainly average Joe's or younger players who might be good if things go ok in their development.
We don't stand out from any other side in the competition to be fair, apart from the bottom 2.
