| He is a good player BUT this is the first time a recruitment announcement hasn't been praised to the rafters and so if it was done to generate good news and mask the on and off fieldp failings it hasn't worked by the limited social responses..I'm quite pleased about that

| Quote lefty goldblatt="lefty goldblatt"A bloke decided he was homesick in March, and went home, not long after.
Another one "gobbed off" before the season started, and got a 7 match ban. Did the square root of nothing when he came back, and then " gobbed off" again, resulting in him being kicked out of the club.
Two players down, and we are struggling.
We now announce a player for 2024,.
Is it just me, or are the club missing something?????????'"
They’re obviously looking for players for 2023, clearly they haven’t been successful - yet. Doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be looking at signing up players for 2024 though?

| We need to strengthen in this position & it's good to get someone lined up but I too would love to get more troops immediately.

| Pretty good player, nice and steady - good defender, runs good lines as well. I'm basing that on about 4/5 games I've seen him in. Certainly good enough to have stayed in the NRL.

We're looking for rugby league players, not scouse virgins over the age of 13, for God's sake.
It can't be that difficult, Shirley? There must be some NRL players who aren't getting regular game time, that fancy a run out in an easier competition.
Where are we looking? Mind you, it took Fitzpatrick 3 weeks to land the Price masterstroke, 6 years ago.
When we get suspensions/injuries, our pack is thinner than co-op bacon.

'If there is one thing this club isn't shy of its making signings, if someone was available who suited the profile, I'm sure we are / would be in negotiations to bring them over. We don't want to sign a Latu out of desperation then be stuck with them.
It seems we have made enquiries about Whitbread & Tanginoa, but props especially seem thin on the ground atm and clubs I assume are reluctant to release players.

Thing is the wires traditional signings of good boozers and lads/ lassies who can hold their ale just aren’t around any more.
None down there on the Cobbs?

Absolutely right. Green & Holroyd have not looked too shabby but we are so thin on the ground.

If you get sentenced to prison for 3 years, you probably have to serve 18 months before you can be considered for early release.
With Wire you can usually apply for early release after 9 to 12 months regardless of the sentence.

| Not much doubt about it that he will be a useful addition to the team. Only down bit is that both he & Currie play on the left. Some players have no problems moving over but others struggle.

| If Currie goes to the right, you absolutely have to play Wrench at centre and Thewlis on the wing. He is quick, and can pass short and long, even kick behind. There is no point putting a slow centre between him and Thewlis.
It’s criminal enough having Ratchford in the middle of him and Ashton, but Matautia between them would be like having a Ford Galaxy towing a caravan in the middle lane of the Autobahn.

| This is from a piece on the Knights website from 2020....
Hate to cast doubt when the guy hasn't even arrived yet, but his answers to questions 2, 4, 5 & 6 scream homesickness already when he's living in Grappenhall....hope I'm wrong.
Who am I: Lachlan Fitzgibbon
Who is most important to me: My partner Sophie, Mum and Dad and sisters.
Greatest off-field achievement: Bought and renovated a house
I’d be lost without: My old man
What I love most about living in Newcastle: The lifestyle, the beaches
My favourite thing to do in Newcastle is: Swim in the ocean, and have a coffee at Blue Door

The problem with many of these Aussie fellas is that they rock up thinking its going to be big city living in a place like London or Manchester, but then quickly realise that Warrington (& much of Northen England) is a boring, grey hole, with very little going for it.
The only ones who seem to endure any length of time here, are the ones who discover the sunnier spots of Europe and manage to escape there at regular intervals.

The ones that do stay seem to really enjoy it though - Austin, Clark, Goodwin
