What with our youth ticking over nicely and 6 Warrington Lads playing in the first team last Sunday lets turn our attention to our next juicy import.



Hodgson will most likely be our next import to leaves us and its an area i'm not sure we are covered particularly well I appreciate the young boy Burke was very good on Sunday but are we due a big aussie signing soon....Andrew Johns was years ago......????

no aussie worth his socks under 35 will come over to SL when the cap goes up. there has only been a smattering of NRL players come over with a big reputation still in there prime in the history of SL. that will quickly dry up.



not even warringtons 'elastic' cap will stretch that far anymore.



id rather be a quality player in a rubbish NRL team and playing state of origin and internationals than play for a top SL club and the exiles.

A certain William Slater could just about fill Hodgsons' shoes........got more chance of winning euromillions tonight....without a ticket

Yeah we need another AUssie forward with plenty of caps and origin games under his belt to have a go at for next year. Waterhouse will have pobably got his act together by then and be hailed as the new messiah so we need a big name aussie to bash. We also need an injury prone young prospect from another english club in the mould of Grix and Bridge but Ratchford may take that title. Also another warringtonian that has come through the ranks who will never be good enough but the coach seems to think he does a decent job like Wainwright, Looks like Riley has got out of that particular trap for now.

I don't want us to go down the path of being like Wigan just signing big name overrated players from the NRL every year instead of developing their own talent.

As I've said for years, HY, why do we HAVE to fill our quota. If you're good enough (and show potential to be great) you'll consistantly get a game.



You don't have to sound like Paul Hogan, have 8 test caps and 16 SoO appearances, to justify a place in our side.

Play well and continue to improve your game, and play as a team member.

Instead of buying up Kiwi or Aussie players,we should be snapping up the best young talent the British isles have to offer.



In the super league at the moment their is some fantastic young players.



Plus the young lads coming up the ladder at Warrington if they are good enough then play them.

Spot on. We should be after Tomkins, possibly Eden, Roby et al. I'm not saying we will get them but less reliance on overseas players will serve us well over the next few years.

It wasn't DVDV who set up the youth system, he actually disbanded it to pay the wages of Langer, Gee etc. It was Paul Cullen who started it off again, he is doing pretty much the same with Widnes now.
