Understand its tradition, but there's far nicer songs in this form they could have chosen all those years ago

I was tittering the time we sung it at the last game at Wilderpool, everyone was humming along until "abide with me" oh it was classic, still makes me chuckle now

There will be a tear in Mr F's eyes when this is sung - classic tradition, don't ever change it.



Usually only the first two verses are sung by the way - otherwise we'd be there all day.

Buy a programme, the words appear in it every year. Or jsut hum it and then blast out "abide with me" thats what mos tof the 90k will do.

Abide with Me is played a lot of funerals. As is 'Angels' apparently. When I go I want 'Blame it on the Boogie'.

Yep, made me laugh at the time. Great song, but they do need the words on the screen. Massive karaoke to kick start the final.

It was fantastic at Cardiff in 2005 sung by Katherine Jenkins. Remember the TV shot of the grown man in a Hull shirt crying at it? It had been sung at his grandad's funeral I think.



Certainly a high point of any Challenge Cup final.
