Quote ="moving on..."Noting against the fans, they're a cracking bunch. Always have a good laugh with them before and after games. But you have to admit... the game will never attract money or sponsors whilst games are played in quarter full stadiums. its amateurish and not attractive in a business sense in the slightest. It puzzles me why Huddersfield even bother to open all 4 stands in the first place. and the cameras always point towards the least popular stand
If teams played in stadia to suit their fan base the game would look a heck of a lot more professional. or at least put them all in the stand facing the camera to give the illusion the ground is somewhat full.
their die hard support is admireable but like I say, even when they were top of the league and challenging for the GF, did the town get behind them and pack the ground out? or buy season tickets for the next year? Nope. And that's what I mean. It's sad but as a Town, the interest for rugby League just isn't there. The same can be said for Salford and Widnes.'"
i think you will find sponsors are more interested in how much tv airtime a club gets, not by how many backsides are sat on the seats in the ground!
where it went wrong with huddersfield regarding crowds was when Davy stopped 'giving away' season passes and fans turned their back on them once they went back up in price, even after a few good season at the top
