For me Bowen deserved a ban. That he escaped one because the RFL didn't want to weaken Wigan for the WCC is both transparent as glass and a disgrace. I don't care who Wigan (or anyone) play the following week, player safety should be paramount. Maybe if Bowen had missed the WCC (which he hadn't earned anyway not being part of last year's Wigan team) then maybe he would have thought twice before trying to take someone's head off again this season.

As for the referees and red cards: to be honest I think they are afraid of standing up and making a decision and facing the repercussions should they be considered to have got it wrong. Game outcomes can depend on being an extra man up sometimes and if the ref has done that in error...
It's far easier to put a player on report and hand the decision to the disciplinary, with their slow-mo replays and multiple angles. Especially now report isn't even needed for a referral to the disciplinary. Refs can just dole out a penalty and let the board worry about repercussions for the player.
Maybe if the sin bin could be used for high tackles refs would be more inclined to reach for their pocket. That would give an immediate, on-field benefit to the team sinned against and an immediate, on-field punishment for the sinner. One of my real bug bears about match bans is that more often than not the team wronged doesn't get any benefit, the teams the week(s) after do.

So the "it's our year this year" that is the passion and belief being shown by the Wire fans that no-one should be knocking is the same quote that you Wigan fans, and Saints fans, and Widnes fans always jizz over and use as crappy joke material against Warrington and it's fans?

Saying something is passion and belief to which it shouldn't be knocked, yet you lot spend most of the season knocking it? I can't decide whether that's more ironic or hypocritical.

I can tell you straight that what your quoting in our fans is no different than what the majority of your fans have been saying for years now "it's our year this year". It's called passion and belief in your side which nobody should be knocking. In terms of us thinking were the best, well that to me sounds like jealousy on your part. We have been very successful in the past and are over the last couple of years starting to be successful again, let's face it we've had our fair share of Barron years with Bradford, saints and Leeds dominating. You should be questioning your coach as to why you can't get it done in the GF, he's won it at Leeds before so why can't he get it done at wire?. I too don't think well beat the Roosters if I'm honest but we all said that years ago when we went to Brisbane and looked what happend so anything can happen.

I said this in relation to the quote that "we think we are the greatest rugby side to ever pull on a jersey". Which is a complete crock of s**t, and that we are apparently arrogant?. Yet is the quote "its our year this year" which has been said by warrington fans not particularly you, not arrogant?. Now I have never mocked warrington personally regarding the your last 2 years GF losses on any forum, like I also stated we have seen barron times ourselves and its s***e when your in it. Like I've said before though, our fans have for the most had generally low expectations, the 'It's Warrington's year' stuff was always Stevo spouting crap in the preseason reviews. Then Man Utd created a song for Liverpool and Saints fans(probably bitter Liverpool fans) turned it on us. Yet in the time they sang that we have picked up 3 Challenge Cups and a LLS while they picked up nothing?

In all honesty mate I have seen quite a few wire fans on here over the years say that quote, but that doesn't count for everybody. it's just the same for every club, we all have a minority that jump on the band wagon the first chance they get but were not all like that. But that said there are some fans that will really believe in what they are saying and some that are just trolling, and to be truthfull mate if wire were in the WCC I would want them to bring the bacon home for the good of our game over here...We need it to attract the money men into our game to push us on to a higher level, commercially and financially.
