Quote ="DoItTheWireWay"I do remember certain eras at the Club very well and I know things didn't go brilliantly for us at the beginning of Super League but I would like to point out that this is the first time I have spoken RL this way. I have been watching the Wire for just over 30 years and am I Wire and I feel that every time we think we are going to bag a title we can't. This is what has led me to feel the way I do.
I have a great passion for the Wire but I am also very realistic. We are a cup team at best. May I suggest if we want a Grand Final trophy that we go and make one as that is the closest we'll ever to get to one right now. I do not feel good ahead of next season. Still to many 30 somethings in the squad and not much action right now in replacing the incredible talent that is leaving the club.
I thought we were damned unlucky on Saturday. Yes I was there and saw my little cousin of 5 at the end of the game in tears and that hurt me enormously. For me having a period of 20-25 mins in an 80 min game does not make you the best team. I felt that the tackle on Ratchford was reckless at best and went unpunished. I felt we were done out of 12 points at the start of the second half. I am not sure the referee knows the difference between a charge down and a knock on. He sure messed up regarding Ryan getting through with a free ball after they dropped it entering a tackle on half way.
I look at last Saturday as being our last chance in a long long while. Should we get to the GF next year I may, and this is a major decision for me, think twice about attending.'"
The thread is titled let's stop the negativity and perhaps you should start looking on the bright side come on we are all disappointed but we've got to crack on and look forward to next year?
I agree with some of your post about the Atkins breakaway from the strip/knock on and the tackle on Ratchford so when you think about it a number of things conspired against us so why was that our one and only chance?
As Mark says you have to be a cup team of sorts to win the 'big prize' why not us?
Now the Wire
