My reflections.



We got beat by a dead cert penalty awarded for an offside that Ganson & child's had ignored all game, Beaten by two points, end of.



Leeds 13 points behind Warrington are crowned Super League champion if they win next week ? Bizarre !!

As in any other sport, Top of the League are the Champs, or the whole year has been a pointless farce !

Fair enough, but do you think saints and leeds are losing any sleep over losing to us twice this season. I won't care one bit if they both thrash us next year and we make it to Old Trafford. A good season? Yes. Cocked up when it mattered? Yes.

I think I've got more enjoyment out of this year than I have either of the last two which have brought greater reward.



I've loved the fact that we've lashed scores on teams with regularity, but I guess it may be a small factor in why it went to plop on Friday night, but I think it's been a long time coming where we just blow teams away and it's been a nice feeling.



I think the highlight for me has been our away form, just Huddersfield have beaten us.



The negative for me has been our home form, and eventually it tripped us up when it mattered, I think we need to improve that. Somehow, we seem stronger away from home, not sure why that is ? Do we (speccies) play any part in that? We've gone out of the playoffs two years running at home and have a better away record this year, I think there's something in this.

But all you lot giving it the 'bottlers' and 'cocked it up' accusations are being totally unrealistic......Just 2 major trophies available per year, with at least 5 serious contenders?....The odds are that some of the time you are going to have to face upto a bit of disappointment every now and then.



As I said earlier, some folk have been spoilt by our recent Cup successes and now have their expectation levels set at stupid....We have had a very good season and certainly never 'cocked it up', we simply encountered an equally talented side who shaded us in a close match....No shame in that at all.

How is it pointless? For Warrington finishing top all they had to do was beat teams who finished 4th and 5th to make the final and one of them were hand picked, everyone knows the situation at the start of the season and the whole point is to try and peak for the big games.

Im not usually one to blame referees but I think the standard this year has been shocking. We benefited from Ganson against Hudds. He decided he was keeping a clean play the ball that day, he went too far and blew for penalties miles too soon. Wigan v Cats and Friday's game were the complete opposite. The Play the ball was so messy is was insane. Teams have been beaten this year because of the style in which the game has been refereed. The fact that you can have the same referee see things so differently from week to week is wrong on all levels. Teams need to prepare multiple game plans based on the mood of a buffoon with a whistle.
