I think it's fair to say he has taken HKR as far as he can, apart from being a very self-assured coach who likes to lick himself down when his team wins, he has taken them from a basic National League side to an established and professional force in Super League while maintaining a competitive squad over recent years. I know when we played our first game at home against them this year we only won with a few minutes to spare and when you put our SL form at home into perspective that was one of our tougher games we have had this year and not forgetting that Challenge Cup quarter-final game in 2006 which was a thrilling encounter at Craven Park. As a coach you get the idea that he likes the sound of his voice and give it the big 'I am'. But to be fair to him recently he has given opportunity to some young players E.G. Liam Watts, Scott Taylor and Jordan Cox and especially tossing aside that pain in the backside Cockayne was the correct decision. Obviously with redevelopment plans on the horizon for the stadium and securing Australian halfs Green and Dobson on long term deals, the opportunity for a new coach would be one to relish.
