Depends really what time you need to be in work for and where abouts in the City centre it is?



I used to travel from Birchwood to the Palace Hotel on Oxford Road 5 days a week by car, leaving between 7am and 7.15am meant I would be in work for between 7.45 and 8.15am. If Man U are at home during the week it could be a nightmare trying to get back to the M602 to get home so for your sake let's hope they get knocked out of the Champions League soon!!



I'm not really a morning person so the fact I didn't have to acknowledge people meant that the car was always my prefered option!

If overall traffic volumes in the area exceed the capacity of the main carriage way traffic will eventually come a stand still. This will cause traffic to queue up on the slip road and adjacent local roads. However as the main carriage way starts to flow again ramp metering will greatly reduce the time it takes to recover. We do regularly monitor all our ramp metering sites and will continue to do so as traffic flows in the area fluctuate over the next few weeks. Please be assured that we will not allow the system to cause unnecessary delays and that we take every available option to reduce delays to road users. I've given up on cars now. Big motorbikes are the way forward, just weave in and out of traffic like it isn't there. Even DSA approve of filtering. Plus road tax is much cheaper and my 130bhp Triumph gives me all the performance I'll ever need for < £8k.

Am landscaping the subways and underpasses, just at the end of M602.

you wanna try the east lancs (a580) in the morning! luckily for me i'm traveling out of manchester, the joys of night shifts, but some mornings it's backed up to the greyhound pub going into manchester at 0830am!
