Couldn't see a reason why Wigan would let MM go at this late stage of the pre season. Would love to see Dixon at Salford with him outside a bullocking like Meli and S'au & Gleeson on the other there is so much potential. Though with the take over at London and the new deal he's just signed I don't see him going anywhere without there being a significant fee or player swap happening.

As much as I’m more than happy with our squad this year I feel we could use some extra pace in the backs. If I could strengthen one position that would give us a different dimension it would be in the centres. I think Gleeson, Sa’u , Meli and Walton would all be pretty solid but none of them are blessed with real natural pace. Cudjoe, Atkins or Watkins please.

McIlurum is definitely a target. I can't see Wigan selling at all, but we said that about Hansen.

Get MM and I think the Docs next purchase would need to be a holiday home in Leeds as him Hock and Chase all together equals cards. If we are another hooker we'd be better throwing the money MM would inevitably cost at trying to prize Clark away from Castleford, very young but 100% one who will with the right guidance turn into a genuine class hooker. At the moment though if there is another one/two signings to come I still think the back line is pretty thin, Dixon I think would be the one but get the feeling that one of the Leeds backs will be the backup. I said it last season but one I'd have had a look at is this guy ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Josh_Mantellato ) from Newcastle, nit a first team regular but every time I've seen him he looks the business, would add some considerable size and is a brilliant goal kicker too.

We need as many new signings in the press and media as possible.I have just read some complete twaddle from Andy Wilson,who luckily only writes for The Guardian.( He has returned from Australia following the losing English cricket team) The story has nothing to do with Salford or Gareth Hock.

Hardaker has told the Star newspaper that he drank with friends,off camp,on an off day,during the World Cup.

I cannot recall an apology from him or from the World Cup winner Slater for his drinking and punching night out,late on in the tournament.

Not having a dig but why would MM leave Wigan for Salford & why would they let him leave? Yes you are a team for the future but Wigan are the team to beat now.

Because Wigan let him leave, they have an abundance of forwards, who would they replace MM with?

Don't club always have to give permission for contracted players to leave.

As for who would replace M M with you could always look at Goodwin at Dewsbury after all you released Hansen then signed J James.

Suppose it's a little different when your boyhood club not only wants you but is going to pay you well on a longer contract.
